tinyogg.com is a service designed to get rid of Flash-based videos by converting them to the free Ogg format. Works fine (K-M 1.6) - check it out

I use Free Download Manager and Orbit but they seem to only work with IE. Is there by chance a freeware video downloader that will work with KM?

No problems with Orbit and K-Meleon.

That is very interesting Matt; but how can I play the videos without downloading them?
It says "Please use a browser the supports video/audio tags. Get ...!"

I have Orbit loading with KM now but I attempt to download a Youtube video the firewall notifies me that "P2P service of Orbit Downloader is trying to access the Internet." I never noticed this warning when using Orbit with IE. I understand that P2P networks are generally potentially hazardous. Do you know if the Orbit P2P Network is safe.

You can watch videos, but make sure that you use K-Meleon 1.6 for that which supports video/audio tags.

caktus, I don't use p2p in Orbit and never did so I can't tell if it's safe or not. But the desciption about "mirrors" and "peer connections" under Tools > Preferences > Accelerate sounds suspicious. It's only an assumption of mine; mayby somone who uses it might post some more infos.

...all we did was right-click the UserAgent button on our toolbar, and enter Firefox 3.6 under CUSTOM, and youtube stopped showing that "warning message"!

How did you do that? The latest Firefox version on my drop down menu is 2.0 ....

He used custom user agent avaliable under this menu smiling smiley Here it is:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6.0

Change "Windows NT 6.1" (which means Windows 7) to "Windows NT 5.1" if you want websites to recognize your OS as Windows XP
You can also change the locale "en-US" to your own.

Just noticed something smiling smiley
Tried to open yahoo with my old IE 5.5 to compare something, but now yahoo only shows it this:

The interesting thing is, despite K-Meleon not being listed as a supported browser, it still works fine, without any tricks, with the default user agent. Looks like they do sniff for engines... Okay that's not google, and it's not march13 yet, but still tongue sticking out smiley

I have had problems with the newer Firefox user agents. The only agent that I have tried so far that works with every site, particularly Facebook, is the following

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; de; rv:1.9.0.15) Gecko/2009101601 Firefox 2.1 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

When using Firefox 2 as the agent, Myspace doesn't work and Youtube gives a "You need a new browser" warning. The Opera agents are not compatible with my bank site. The above has worked with everything so far.

I find K-Meleon's default & the SeaMonkey 1 spoof user-agent works fine in You Tube. The Firefox 2 doesn't however & I get the 'old browser message'.

Weird eh? :s
