Pretty much. No public 0.x versions in a year should answer your question. Its really like a programming club, you know. Which is like a Bridge club except they play with code instead of cards. If you'd like to try a windows browser project that actually cleans up the code & post public versions for testing, go to http://www.mozilla.org/projects/phoenix/

But they won't let you contribute code to their project. Don't forget to include that caveat.

By the time the new version is released, only the developers will still have any interest in it!

"Btw, put some news on your Front page to let the people know that Kmeleon is not dead winking smiley"

I don't know if the developers are responsible for handling that, as E.Goldoni (lele) is the webmaster here, and handles the web authoring duties. Maybe the devs tell him what to add, who knows.

Actually, lele isn't responsible for the front page. That's Jeff's realm. Yes, I wish we had new news up there but I've already expressed that sentiment.

And speaking of the webpage, why is it invalid HTML without even a Doctype as well as abusing <table> for layout instead of properly relying on CSS for that?

Its supposed to represent a browser with the words most standardscompliant browserengine, gecko, isn't it ? winking smiley

Mayby getting the webpage into the 21th century at the same time K-mel 0.7 is released would be a nice idea smiling smiley

If someone else wants to maintain/update/rewrite the website, I'd be more than happy to let them smiling smiley

Jeff,

I just want something on the front so we don't have to here the constant griping about being "dead". Other than that, someone else can volunteer to redo the site. It's good by me for now.

I'd be willing to help update/rewrite the site, but the maintaing part should really be handled by the developers. The only thing that really needs any attention is the news page anyway, and the developers kind of know the news before the rest uf us anyway smiling smiley

"6 beta test-builds in 5 days will do that. smiling smiley"

Yep, and the updated "News" item as well. It's funny how, before no matter how many times you told them that beta testing was going on, and you pointed them to the beta build to download, they still kept persisting with the noise and nonsense. One snippet of news, and the noise has died down.

Ah, how refreshing that we can now get back to discussing K-Meleon :-)

Keep up the good Work!!!

BTW... if one really reads everything on the K-M home page, one notices that there is a gap of over a year between releases of 0.5 and 0.6. A lot of people survived that aeon... life does plod on. Some folks are just in so much of a hurry they don't have time to have a life. ;-)
Long live K-M!

What do you mean? Looks more like 1 month to me.

10-30-01 : K-Meleon 0.6 released.
09-27-01 : K-Meleon 0.5 released.
