HI!


First I'm sorry for my bad english - I'm german.

I'm a new user of k-meleon and I think, it's one of the best (maybe THE BEST) browser. It's fast and slim.

OK, but I have one problem. Is there any possibility to open a new tab without changing in it? Sometimes I open 5 or more links from a website. It's very exhausting to switch to the "original" tab by hand.

Aber ich versteh die Frage nicht ganz... Willst du Tabs quasi duplizieren? Oder im Hintergrund öffnen? Oder...??

Also ich würde gerne einen neuen Tab mit der mittleren Maustaste öffnen und laden lassen - allerdings nicht direkt in den neuen Tab springen, sondern auf der Website, auf der ich den Link mit mittlerer Maustaste angeklickt habe, bleiben. (Wie z.B. im Firefox)

Bei mir K-Meleon immer gleich in den neuen Tab - egal was ich bisher eingestellt habe...

Okay klar, also einfach Links in Background-Tabs öffnen.

(Tools > Mouse Accelerators > Firefox)
Oder ist das womöglich wieder ein Problem mit fehlenden Schreibrechten in Vista/Win7...?

Irgendwie bin ich davon ausgegangen, das es in den Einstellungen (F2 - Browsing - Tabed Browsing) einzustellen wäre...

Keine Ahnung ob's unter Vista / 7 bei einigen Usern Probleme gibt. Auf meinen zwei Rechnern (Vista 64bit Home Premium und Windows 7 64bit Home Premium) funktioniert es ohne Probleme.

Yeah ,I got the same problem...I recently upgraded to the last version and i am not happy..It used to be so easy to set the links you click on to be opened into a new tab going to the browsing preferences..


Now i do not know what`s happening...Even if i set it from the F2 -----> Browsing -----> Windows Diversion for some reason K-meleon keeps on opening the new links in the same tab..

Now how annoying is that??

PS:Or is just me...I have forgotten how to do it..??

Are you tried with a new profile or with KM 1.6 Beta?

Wait a second... Could it be that you want to open also plain simple links, which don't have a target, also in a new tab by LEFT-click???

If that's it, the usual way for most people would be to use a middle-click or Shift+LeftClick or Ctrl+LeftClick, or one of the other variations described here:
http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/FAQ#mouseaccels

But may be that on some touchpads middle-clicking is a bit difficult and adding shift a bit bothersome, then a simple left-click could be easier...

How to do.... Perhaps in Edit>Configuration>Accelerators add this...
LButton = ID_OPEN_LINK_IN_NEW_TAB
Not sure at all if this doesn't have any undesired side-effects, but you could check if perhaps that was what you used in your old versions?

Ah yes, perhaps the shortcut could instead point to a little helper macro, that first checks if the mouse is over a link, and only then executes "open link", but otherwise keeps the default behaviour...
Something like
$LinkURL? id(ID_OPEN_LINK_IN_NEW_TA : ...?LButton?... :cool:
Don't think that "LButton" works that way, hmmm... Then again, for which actions are simple left-clicks used in a browser, aside from opening links... for selecting text... for positioning in text boxes... perhaps that would still work, even though the accels is changed? Would need a little test...
