please help...the browser does not work..all I get is a list ..which looks like programming commands...what do i do?..I can't find my ist of favorites either..

I to have experienced a similar problem but I forget what causes it. Sooner or later I am sure some one will respond with a solution when they visit the forum. Meanwhile, I would urge you to editing out your email address so it will not be mined and used by spammers. Some one will respond to you by posting in this forum thread. While editing your post you can place a check mark beside "Follow Topic" below the subject line to receive an email when some one responds.

Unfortunately there's a forum bug, emailing doesn't work any more. Only if one clicks on the "control center", the followed topics are listed there.

Oh well... Looks like there was some crash and the non-english home page forgotten again?
Usually no big deal, sometimes it already helps to just click Edit > Preferences (F2) and on "Restore Default" next to the home page field.

And you don't find your "favorites" any more - is that really "FAVORITES" or not rather "BOOKMARKS"?? That's two very different things technically...
In case it is "bookmarks", the path to your profile folder may have been forgotten. If so, locate your old profile folder and copy over the contents into the new one :-) The current one you find in
Edit > Configuration > Profile Directory
The old one may be 1 level higher (random names), or inside the k-Meleon program folder, or in your user app folder, something like c:/users/... or similar

Then again, you write that the browser doesn't work? Does it really not browse, or is only the "home" page different? For example if you click Help > FAQ, or if you type "google.com", does it work and show the web pages??

Hi, siria.

Sorry it takes me so long to reply. At first it was just because I type slow. All through school and college, teachers often stressed the fact that in the future everyone would need typing skills but apparently I never paid much attention to it. And now, health problems and medication I use just makes the problem worse. Usually it is easier to just visit and browse the forums often, especially since I use a dialup connection.

Strange, I get the “Follow Topic” option both when creating and Editing posts. Perhaps it has something to do with cached files.

I am using Favorites. I will try coping over the old Profile folder to the new installation of KM to see if that helps.

Resetting the Home Page to Default didn’t help. However, since reinstalling KM the problem no longer exists. The problem with surfing was that KM often crashes. I thought this problem had been fixed since reinstalling KM but the browser still crashes, mostly when clicking on “Preview” or “Post Message” at the forums but it crashes on other sites as well including Google and the FAQ. Usually when KM crashes I get a Crash Report dialog option. I some times submit the Crash Report but some times the Crash Report stops responding before I can submit it.

I also have some java problems that I cannot figure out how to fix. Perhaps I should have posted these problems in that thread e.g. the last posts by me at http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,108658. When a thread gets long with many posts by many authors it seems to get somewhat daunting and confusing for me. Perhaps I should create a thread under my screen name and just used that one when need help with KM.

This happend when you K-Meleon not clese correctly and KM profile was corrupted.
At start again KM check that your profile is corrupted and create a new profile.
In some cases Home page is lost and this code is showed.
To fix it only setting again your "Home Page" in Preferences (F2) and close K-Meleon correctly the next time.
