hey whats the best user agent to use in the site.
Guenter gave me a custom agent "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.16pre) Gecko K-Meleon/1.6.0 not Firefox/3.5.15 "
Anything better?
Any string that will get You past faulty UserAgent switches is good.
Just do Your own experiments with the pages You visit often.
Another way is to use disrupted's Auto Agentswitch from his K-Meleon extension page.
The reason why I made up the one I posted is that it gets K-Meleon into web statistics as used web browser while it lets me pass into my yahoo.mail account without being hussled like: "Your browser is old get a new one or use old mail".
guenter ... off topic but I was wondering what operating system you use ... I know siria uses Win98SE and just curious who else might be using Win98SE? ...

32 bit XP pro SP3 on an Amilo laptop with older Turion64 and 4 GB RAM.
I broke my WinME (which AFAIK is a 98se sort of) trying to install kernelX.
ME is re-installed on my backup machine but cannot reach the Inet. I cannot remember how to configure access. The machine is connected to local fax, printer, scanner combi.

off topic - Thanks guenter and slayer for the Win98SE info. I decided to start a Win98SE poll or a new topic to see how many people are using K-Meleon and Win98SE ... would be nice to know about other Win98SE users out there, then people could maybe be of assistance when someone might have a problem. Everybody (using Win98SE) would know of others using Win98SE and could ask questions about a situation they might be having on their computer.
