I'm lost

I have been switching between Firefox and K-meleon since Firefox was called Phoenix...Every time I choose Firefox as my main browser for all its features. And every time I come back to K-meleon for its speed.
Now I got myself a big flatscreen and I want to go back to K-meleon cause Firefox is giving me lock-ups. And I miss the speed. But what version? I want one with sidebar and group macro's (not the latest one where I cannot make a startup group). For the rest I can make all the necessary adjustments, that is the good thing about K-meleon
I regularly visit this forum, but the pace is so frenzied these days that I'm completely lost.
Can anybody steer me to the latest version that support both needs?
Plz.

The versions based on Gecko 1.7.12 don't have a sidebar.
There is a layers version based on a version of Hao with
layers, modified by me, still available, which has a sidebar
for bookmarks. From Mozilla 1.9a1 nightly of sept/2nd/2005.
But a warning first : Do not edit your bookmarks in the sidebar,
but open bookmarks edit from the menu bar or the bookmarks
button in the toolbar.
Download at :

http://rapidshare.de/files/5267452/K-MeleonCCF0.03RC2-modified.exe.html

Press the button "FREE" at the bottom of the page (javascript enabled) ,
and extract the self-extracting .exe into a fresh folder.

Thx Fred, didn't know one of your versions had the sidebar. Love your default settings, for me it's very simple to make all the adjustments I need. Tried some of Hao's builds with sidebar, but there is a bug that bookmarks don't open in a new tab/layer. So that makes them useless for me...
One question, why doesn't the sidebar open when I start the browser ? I have to do that manually every time the browser is started. Same for Hao's builds btw.

That is the setting, that is actually wanted, because it
narrows the browser window at start. I tried to change this
by adding a string to user.js, but it had no effect and seems to be
preconfigured in kmeleon.exe .

That's a pity. If it is not open when I start the browser and it can't open bookmarks in a new tab/layer then it is pretty useless to me. If you have a 1600-12000 screen like i do now, a sidebar is a big plus...

To bad because K-meleon is developing really fast now with all the new options that keep popping up.
