KM 1.5.x needs: msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll

G'day all -

Very new here, just spent the weekend downloading, installing and taming K-Meleon 1.5.4 (I don't normally use unstable/alpha/beta releases smiling smiley )

I saw a couple of references to "KM 1.5.x needs: msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll" -- The versions shipped with K-Meleon are 7.10.3077.0 and 7.10.3052.4 repectively, these are dated 2003. I use Sun JRE 1.6.0_20, which ships with 7.10.6030.0 and 7.10.6030.0, both dated 2010. Just copy them across from a JRE folder to the "Program Files\K-meleon" folder.

I'm very impressed by K-Meleon, even if the setup is a bit geeky. I've set it up in all five of the Home Computer accounts, with separate profiles, and even separate caches!

Cheers,

Gordon

@Gordon: although I have msvcp71.dll version 7.10.6052.0 AND msvcr71.dll version 7.10.7031.4 both dated February 1, 2007 from MS KB article 932298. These versions include the daylight saving time 2007 fixes for those DLL files.

so the ones that I have are newer than yours. heehee! smiling smiley
