No error message here. I think notice said both 32 and 64 bit versions included in installer. Note: once you run the downloaded installer, it disappears. This is from my about plugins:
Shockwave Flash

File name: NPSWF32_11_3_300_257.dll
Shockwave Flash 11.3 r300

I will try to do some more checking.

JamesD,

I don't know what it is with version 11, but on my XP PRO SP3, using MediaPlayerClassic (with latest codecs), this latest version did not run well after I hexed it. The downloaded FLV ran like MaxHeadroom, even worse. I downloaded the latest version 10 and it runs just fine. I will have to test this...

I will upload tomorrow morning both hex versions for testing.

@ ndebord

I have put the hexed version into plugins folder. This is what my 'about plugins' shows now.
Shockwave Flash

File name: NPSWF32.dll
Shockwave Flash 11.3 r300

File name has less information than unhexed version, but is the correct version. No problems and no error messages. Is there any special url that I need to test. I have played some video from youtube. That worked just fine.

I don't get that error message when installing flash 11.3 on my Win7 x64 machine and on my WinXP 32bit machine.

check these folders carefully on your 64bit computer:

C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\
C:\Windows\SysWoW64\Macromed\Flash\

on 64bit versions of Vista/Win7, you should see the NPSWF64*.DLL file (12Mb in size) installed in the \Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\ folder and the NPSWF32*.DLL file (9Mb in size) installed in the \Windows\SysWoW64\Macromed\Flash\ folder.

AND you need to store the K-meleon program files in the \Program Files (x86)\ folder rather than the normal \Program Files\ folder on a 64bit Windows OS.

and btw, I'm using the actual standalone flash player 11.3 installer and NOT the downloadable installer - no error message on any of my 32bit and 64bit computers.

JamesD,

Thanks, I think I figured out what was wrong. My old Thinkpad T40 just died and I moved to HP Desktop and reinstalled everything, along the way I used VLC,which I had not used before. It was that program that caused videos to be scrambled. Media Player Classic is what I am now using and both versions 10 and 11 are working for me now. My mistake.

whenver I want to play FLV files, I play them in latest Realplayer 15 build or within Windows Media Player 11 with latest Shark007's Vista Codecs installed, which should work in XP. though Shark007's Vista Codecs work best with at least a Pentium 4 or AMD AthlonXP/Sempron CPU processor.

For whatever reason I drifted away from Apple and MS for these things. Media Player Classic, with the latest codecs from K-Lite works, its just that it took me time to get it all installed properly on my new/old desktop replacement for my favorite (but dead) Thinkpad. <sigh>

I am using Windows XP 32-bit -- that's my problem.

And I prefer the K-Meleon plugin. I can use a imageviewer program to view downloaded FLV files.

4td8s,

I had early problems, and went to NPSWF32_10.3.183.20_HEXed version.

I have not liked the 11.xx line at all since it showed up, but it took me until now to make the switch. All thanks to you who got me to get around to hexing the older version also.

well I don't have any serious issues with the early flash 11.x releases (like 11.0 and 11.1). it's the latter 11.x releases (such as 11.2 & 11.3) that I've gotten some problems.

I'll use flash 10.3.183.20 for Internet Explorer/K-meleon/Firefox/Opera/Seamonkey and flash 11.2.200.235 for google chrome 20 beta - overwriting the embedded flash 11.3.300.257 in chrome. I won't use flash 10.3.183.20 plugin in chrome 20 beta since it will complain about that one being outdated.

Yup, I only use 10.3.183.20, although I have the newer 11.xx versions sitting around. I use the hexed version in KM and the non-hexed version in SeaMonkey and FireFox.... no chrome for me and only IE6 for windows update and no flash there ever!<g>

I am using this latest version, File name: NPSWF32_11_3_300_257.dll, on my system and I have had no problems. Perhaps I just don't use sites with heavy flash. Is there a certain kind of file which crashes?

JamesD,

I have my problems with it on Firefox and just decided to just use the one version on all my Gecko browsers. Had trouble with Fx 13.0 and it and problems rendering with VLC. I may play with it again now that I switched to Media Player Classic, but am not in any hurry to do so right now.

4td8s,

Much thanks, look here for the hexed version:

Flash Player 11_3_300_262.dll

Download NPSWF32_11_3_300_262_hex.7z

http://www.datafilehost.com/download-d8eb9f46.html

Extract

NPSWF32_11_3_300_262_hex.dll

Rename it to

and copy it into K-Meleon's plugin folder

CAVEAT:

The release notes for 11.3.300.262 say the audio issues are still a known issue (broken) in XP PRO

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/release-note/enduser-release-notes-11_3.html

So, as I have XP PRO SP3, I have once again reverted to the 10.xxx version. Would be interested to hear what Windows 7 users find when they use this plugin and if other XP PRO users find audio problems.

To all Km 1.5.4 users:
this latest build prompts Km to send you a message that plug-in performed illegal action and that you should restart Km. No matter what you do, Km crashes in the next couple of seconds.

Use some of the previous builds instead.

Hi ... need some help on finding my downloaded YouTube videos. I no longer have Windows 98SE on my computer and just switched to XP last month (June). When I had Windows 98SE installed I had no trouble finding the downloaded "tmp" videos. I can't find any downloads since I switched to using K-Meleon with Windows XP. Where exactly should I look in the Windows folder to find the downloaded tmp videos.
thanks ...
