Some security software could detect as something like that as it is an hexed (modified) file (keep file and disable full screen info balloon), but hasn't more vulnerabilities than the official.

As I said previously, I'm sorry to don't provide the latest version, but I still use Windows 2000 and I can't do anything without running a virtual machine and do the same process for the latest version which is a waste of time.

This version may lack the newest features but is perfectly functional for most of the purposes.

Since ndebord and others haven't posted any recent versions of the latest non IE flash for K-Meleon, I am going to post a link to get the latest version that will work with KM for anyone looking for a newer version. This is flash download NPSWF32.zip v12.00.00.44.

Note - this is NOT a hexed version, just the latest flash version that can be used in K-Meleon, Opera, Qt Web and other non-IE browsers. Perhaps ndebord or someone will hex a newer version later on ... I just use this version anyway, just to have a newer version installed.

Download NPSWF32.zip (size 7.57 MB, version 12.00.00.44), unzip NPSWF32.dll and place it inside program\plugins inside Opera installation directory.

Look, if you post here each new version, I'll try (unless the method stops working or I stop coming to the forum) to hex with the known method as I did now with the file you provided, but, as I said before, I won't be able to test them (with my system specs it's a nightmare the "only" way I have). You'll be who confirm if it works or if it doesn't.

Hi John ... you and Ndebord have always been helpful to everyone in this thread. I myself don't need a hexed flash version ... I use Youtube Downloader HD these days to download YouTube videos when I want one. It's just that I hadn't seen a post from Ndebord in some time and I remember you posting earlier that you are on Windows 2000 so you are not able to hex newer versions very easily.

Like I said earlier, I really don't need a hexed version but I thought I would post a link to a newer flash non-IE version for people to have at least the newer version even if it wasn't hexed.

Thanks for the hexed version, I will download it to keep anyway and others probably will want it also. Hope Ndebord hasn't moved on ... you are still here, glad for that. Sorry for any misunderstandering ... just thought a newer version was better than nothing since flash has now moved to the 12 version.

I use YTdownloaderHD too, but for other sites it's useful ;-)

Does it work? Anyone can do a test? Vimeo videos (and Metacafe, if I'm not wrong) are cached the old way, just if you want to try a site to test with.

Well I went to YTdownloaderHD after going to Windows XP. I used the hexed flash version with Windows 98SE and it worked very well. With XP I could never get it to work, maybe I didn't have all the steps correct ... If someone could tell me where to look for the downloaded video in XP and any thing else that I should know, I could try it again. Something is different from Windows 98SE.

The video, if the hex is working, should be kept in the temporary folder of the user profile in Windows as file like fla[2 or 3 hex numbers and letters].tmp.

The temp folder is under "systemdriveletter:\documents and settings\profilename\local configuration\temp" or in the global temp folder in "systemdriveletter:\windows\temp".

I don't know exactly where, if in the user or system temp, as by default I set the system variables to a folder of my choose. If I'm not wrong, K-meleon takes the user temp.

They hided it a little when they adopted the "documents and settings" profile structure.

even with K-meleon, Flash Player 11 & higher require minimum 2.33 Ghz (2333Mhz) Intel x86 CPU [or Intel Core Duo 1.86Ghz] with 512Mb of RAM [and 128Mb of video RAM] as noted on the Tech Specs page. Don't even think of using Flash Player 11.x/12.x/13.x or higher if your CPU is less than a 2.4Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or a 2.4Ghz AMD K8 (Athlon 64 3400+). Major video stuttering & chopping problems occur if your processor and graphics card are below the Flash Player minimum system requirements, which is why I still use older versions of Flash Player (like 9 or 10.3) until I can upgrade the CPU and/or graphics card to meet the new system requirements.

Reading your message in the other thread today, and this, 4td8s. The best you can do if websites don't require newer versions.

If I use latest is because of security flaw I had time ago with IE6 and flash (when I was testing) and because some sites require latests. If not, I would be using 9 or 10.3 (this the best hardware performance I had with) too.

I'll use this message too to say sorry to all following this thread for being one month without an update. I was busy in other things and when I noticed I just decided to wait to this 10th of June (every second Thursday of each month a new release is available). There is no harm while you use flashblack add-on that block unwanted and some times hidden harmful flash files in the web. Keep this in mind if I don't post newer standalone versions here.

I believe that new Flash Player listed is Beta ... I don't use the Beta versions of flash myself ... usually wait for the Final version.

Some people may use a Beta version ... I just posted this so people know it is a possible Beta version, from what I can find out.
