For many older, legacy, or even current websites that need to use the Shockwave 10 projector loader, those sites will no longer work if Shockwave 10 has not been installed, as Adobe appears to have pulled the files offline that automatically install on such sites.
If the current version of Shockwave is installed (12.x), Shockwave 10 typically installs into C:[Windows Directory][System or System32 Folder]\Macromed\Shockwave 10
I believe it downloaded from
https://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave10.4/
The URL is still working but everything comes up 404.
The last version that I personally have is
10.4.1.54, with modified dates of 9/20/16.
If you have a computer that has Shockwave 10 installed, you should only need to copy the C:[Windows Directory][System or System32 Folder]\Macromed\Shockwave 10 folder over to the computer in the same equivalent location to get Shockwave animations working that need the Shockwave 10 Projector loader, provided that the latest version of Shockwave is installed (12.x). You will, however, need the full compliment of
**Shockwave 10** Xtras if the animations need them, as they are no longer downloading from Adobe.
My questions are:
1 - Does anyone know if Shockwave 10 is now permanently removed from automatically downloading from Adobe?
2 - If Shockwave 10 is no longer being updated, is 10.4.1.54 the final version, or is there one later than that?
3 - If so, where does one download it?
An example of an old site that would automatically download Shockwave 10 (provided Shockwave 12 is installed) is:
https://www.warnerbros.com/archive/spacejam/movie/cmp/bball/shootframes.html
(Heh Space Jam 1996 web site still online
)
The last time I know that it worked was October 2016.
If Adobe made any kind of announcement that Shockwave 10 was going to be pulled, I missed it.
