Since the offline installer page went offline, I have been using the following links:

http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_24_active_x.exe

https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_24_plugin.exe

But as of today, while those links will work, as they will no longer download the latest version (24.0.0.194).

So does this mean there is now absolutely no way for end users to get offline installers for the latest version? I knew that was probably coming... and I think it truly shows a complete anti-user attitude from Adobe.

Edit: I found these links:

Mozilla Firefox:
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/24.0.0.194/install_flash_player.exe

Internet Explorer
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/24.0.0.194/install_flash_player_ax.exe

Chromium & Opera
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/24.0.0.194/install_flash_player_ppapi.exe

Flash Uninstaller
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe

those links no longer work - now produces 404 not found message.
but the new links you mentioned for v24.0.0.194 do work.

Adobe Security Bulletin APSB17-02 mentions the newest flash player updates:
https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb17-02.html

these alternate download links also work as I tested them myself:
(ActiveX for XP/Vista/Win7) (NPAPI) (PPAPI)

A few days ago I think I saw a thread about portable flash or embedding flash in K-Meleon so it works like firefox's flash. (?)

I just searched and couldn't find the thread.

I'm using the latest version of flash and everything's fine. I am just wondering if there would be any advantage to using a portable/embedded flash, right in K-Meleon? And if so, how does one do it?

It's a matter of personal preference.
I've never installed the install package for Flash from Adobe (Macromedia).
I always only download the stand-alone plugin (NPSWF32.dll). That's how I'm using Flash with K-Meleon, Opera Presto and Firefox ESR since ages. For Firefox you will also need FlashPlayerPlugin.exe to be placed next to NPSWF32.dll.

The pedantic way with K-Meleon is to create a folder in K-Meleon's main directory and name it "plugins". There you can place NPSWF32.dll or any other plugins you want to use with K-Meleon.
However K-Meleon will find and use the plugin wherever it is placed in its directory.

It works just fine for me, and also worked in Firefox 43, even without the .EXE, until I stopped using FF altogether.

Thanks guys. Works like a charm. I like portable apps. Revo Unistaller found a lot of leftover files when I uninstalled the standard flash player...

I still flip back and forth between K Meleon and the newest/old version of Chrome that my Win XP laptop will permit. Chrome handles the Zemanta blogging plugin, which I find really useful. I also like the way it's so easy to enable/disable plugins/extensions in Chrome.

If I could find a portable Zemanta that worked in K-Meleon, that would be pretty cool. Haven't really given it a concerted effort yet. I'm still migrating to K-Meleon. smiling smiley

For many older, legacy, or even current websites that need to use the Shockwave 10 projector loader, those sites will no longer work if Shockwave 10 has not been installed, as Adobe appears to have pulled the files offline that automatically install on such sites.

If the current version of Shockwave is installed (12.x), Shockwave 10 typically installs into C:[Windows Directory][System or System32 Folder]\Macromed\Shockwave 10

I believe it downloaded from https://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave10.4/

The URL is still working but everything comes up 404.

The last version that I personally have is 10.4.1.54, with modified dates of 9/20/16.

If you have a computer that has Shockwave 10 installed, you should only need to copy the C:[Windows Directory][System or System32 Folder]\Macromed\Shockwave 10 folder over to the computer in the same equivalent location to get Shockwave animations working that need the Shockwave 10 Projector loader, provided that the latest version of Shockwave is installed (12.x). You will, however, need the full compliment of **Shockwave 10** Xtras if the animations need them, as they are no longer downloading from Adobe.

My questions are:

1 - Does anyone know if Shockwave 10 is now permanently removed from automatically downloading from Adobe?

2 - If Shockwave 10 is no longer being updated, is 10.4.1.54 the final version, or is there one later than that?

3 - If so, where does one download it?

An example of an old site that would automatically download Shockwave 10 (provided Shockwave 12 is installed) is:

https://www.warnerbros.com/archive/spacejam/movie/cmp/bball/shootframes.html

(Heh Space Jam 1996 web site still online winking smiley)

The last time I know that it worked was October 2016.

If Adobe made any kind of announcement that Shockwave 10 was going to be pulled, I missed it.

Here is a Google Drive link to the Win32 version of Macromedia Shockwave 10.4.1.54:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B1aBUnwicpu-MkFfM2JJZHc1LTg?usp=sharing

It contains the full compliment of Xtras, including ones that were no longer downloading from Adobe for the past several years.

After installing the latest Shockwave (12.2.5.196 at the time of this post), unzip or unrar the file to C:[Windows Directory][System or System32 Folder]\Macromed, it should create a Shockwave 10 folder under the Macromed directory. This should get old sites that use Shockwave working again.

New Flash Player security updates released on Valentine's Day (24.0.0.221)
See Adobe Security bulletin APSB17-04 for details.
https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb17-04.html

Don't bother using Shockwave, K.Sanders. I've completely uninstalled/removed it from all my machines. If you still need to use it on older sites, get the Shockwave MSI installer file here. I know the MSI package had both Shockwave 10.x and Shockwave 12.x on there.

The Flash Player v24.0.0.221 security updates for Windows 8.1 & Windows 10 have been made available on the afternoon on Feb. 21 in MS security bulletin MS17-005.

unrelated to Flash, the Adobe Shockwave player redistribution page still works.
Shockwave has recently been updated to v12.2.7.197, according to Majorgeeks. I'd still get the Shockwave MSI installer, which is nearly twice the size of the Shockwave Full installer.

Adobe Flash Player 26.0.0.126 was withdrawn. New release today (26.0.0.131)

... guess there was a problem, it (26.0.0.126) didn't seem to install correctly on my computer last night so today a new version.

Sorry for the question, but there would be something similar to what you do here putting the file "NPSWF32.dll" in the kmeleon plugins folder, but for the activex of explorer 8 on windows xp?

Is that if possible, I would also like to get rid of the fear of using the activex executable in explorer 8.

sorry not possible. the activex EXE installer always installs the activeX flash in the C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash folder. it's been like that with many versions of Windows including XP.

not sure if that answers your question.
otherwise, don't use IE8 at all or remove/uninstall the activex version of flash.

anyways, Flash Player 26.0.0.137 available from Adobe Security bulletin APSB17-21:
