I use the Personal Toolbar Folder. But interestingly, some of the sites i add are added with their favicons (website icons) and some of them are not although they have icons visible while browsing.

Whats the problem?

Go to about:config URL or Edit -> Configuration -> Browser Configuration
And filter this pref:

browser.chrome.favicons

Change the pref value to true.

AFAIK it only stores the favicon for dispaly when the it is used in the right way.

p.s. Er hatte dich scheinbar nicht verstanden. Da war mal ein Englischer Thread drüber. K-Meleon verwendet/erkennt AFAIK nur das Ikon, wenn es ganz richtig eingebunden ist. Die Ecko Rendering Engine scheint mehr Möglichkeiten zu kennen.

There actually is some issue with favicons in toolbar folders and/or bookmarks directly... Can't remember details now, but there was some discussion about it awhile ago. Somewhere buried in the depths of the forum, but you can use the search function for it. Or perhaps someone remembers details?
