I've recently discovered this system:

They provide a set of DNS that used instead of your default ones makes your surfing experiece faster and safer (because they disallow you from going to phising sites). Also have anti-typos features.

It's free, you don't have to install any software or register. You only have to change your current DNS for the provided one:

* 208.67.222.222
* 208.67.220.220

(if you're unsure about how to do that, they have clear instructions on their web)

Is as easy to try as to rollback if you dislike it by some reason.
I've been trying for a few days and works fine by now.

I have been trying it just for a few minutes on dialup and it seems to be a big boost for K-meleon. I enjoy the speed...........Thanks, I'll continue testing

Yeah, I've been using this for a couple of weeks now.

It makes a perceptible (maybe just a second difference) in page loading times.

I've got the basic AT&T DSl plan and although their DNS servers are closer to me here in Chicago than OpenDNS', OpenDNS is perkier.

Wow! It IS faster! The only set of DNS servers I've used that have been this fast was with my cable internet service before. Faster AND more secure! I wouldn't be surprised to see them start charging small fees.

I don't think they'd charge fees, as DNS queries don't take a lot of bandwidth. They make their money off advertising by giving you their site full of links when you mistype the address to a site.

It should be amazing for the USA living people. Here in Spain I'm not sure of if I'm noticing and improvement on speed or it's just the same speed it was before.

But it's the same speed or more, for sure.

Here in Asia, it's just the same speed but it's more eficient, consistent, responsive and no hang time (delay) on dialup.
