lost layers ability

Hi,
I made the mistake of right clicking 'k-meleon' on the taskbar, and choosing 'Restore'. After that - no more layers. The preference settings look O.K. but pressing 'New Layer' in the 'File' menu kicks me to my home page, with any backward or forward options. (I found this out while trying to write this mail, so this is my second attempt.)
Can anyone help me to get layers back?

Really curious, there's no reason that restore had caused this problem. It's probably other thing.

Try to create a new profile, and look if the problem is gone.

If it is ok, close K-Meleon and just take the files you want to keep in your old profile and put it in your new profile folder (bookmarks.html, mimetypes.rdf, ...)

I restarted my system and my layers have magically reappeared.
