Java crashes all the time

Everytime I try to open something made in Java at K-Meleon I get this error:

java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.sun.deploy.net.proxy.DynamicProxyManager.reset(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.deploy.net.proxy.DeployProxySelector.reset(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.initEnvironment(Unknown Source)

I have the latest Java and K-Meleon, have tried reinstalling both and I checked the registery like mentioned in the wiki. It works fine in Firefox and Internet explorer. Help would be appreciated.

Make sure you have a copy of all the np dlls in the java/bin folder in the K-meleon/plugins folder.

Is the only thing I can say.

From the Docs:

http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/windows.html#Java
( K-Meleon normally does not need the Java plugins dll in his plugin folder but it can be needed, this makes sure that K-Meleon uses the Netscpae not the IE plugin type (e.g. when Your system is damaged or confused ).

Needed Java dll are AFAIK in Java directory bin ( NPOJI610.dll, NPJPI142_10.dll, NPJava11.dll, NPJava12.dll, NPJava13.dll, NPJava14.dll, NPJava32.dll ). You can alternatively install commercial versions of Netscape (7.2 or 8.1) to get a set of well configured Plugins including that for Java.

Some older ME versions had a problem with Java - update to other/newer minimal chrome.

Test page for a properly behaving Java Applet.

K-Meleons good performance with Java was my original reason to be/come here. I have a page with Lake Applets and other animating Applets smiling smiley
