That update 21 was when the problem was first encountered.
The procedure is still the same for subsequent updates. Either copy the needed plugin (npoji610.dll) to K-Meleon plugins so that it gets precedence over the faulty java-plugin (npjp2.dll) that only knows recent Firefox versions or You delete the later plugin at ./program files/Java/jre6/bin/new_plugin/...
You'll find npoji610.dll at
./program files/Java/jre6/bin
and copy it to
./program files/K-Meleon/plugins
Looks at the default install place for Java in Your language.
so /program files/ can be a localized string like Programme in German.
That is why "FAQ" said that the solution was most likely the same.
