some tool bar buttons missing
Posted by: caktus

The Reload, Forward and Back buttons are missing from the Toolbar.They where present yesterday. I think they were present prior to testing verious skins ealier today. I went back and checked the other skins, but these particular buttons are missing from all of the skins.

According to the Toolbars.cfg file they should be loaded. They are available from the Rightclick menu which works fine for me, but I am curious as to what happend to them, or how to get them back. Any ideas regarding this problem?

Thanks.

Charlie

Display > Toolbars > Check the toolbar which is missing ('Main bar' probably).

Hi JujuLand. Below are the missing buttons as listed in the Toolbars.cfg file. Unless I'm mistakin (and I could be) because there are no #'s in front of the lines, the buttons [should] be present on the Toolbar.

&Main Bar(24,24){

Back{
ID_NAV_BACK
Go back one page
mainbarhot.bmp[0]
mainbarcold.bmp[0]
mainbardead.bmp[0]
}

Forward{
ID_NAV_FORWARD
Go forward one page
mainbarhot.bmp[1]
mainbarcold.bmp[1]
mainbardead.bmp[1]
}

Stop{
ID_NAV_STOP
Stop loading this page
mainbarhot.bmp[2]
mainbarcold.bmp[2]
mainbardead.bmp[2]
}

Reload{
%ifplugin macros
ID_NAV_RELOAD|Reloa&ding
Reload this page. Right-click for more options.
%else
ID_NAV_RELOAD
Reload this page
%endif
mainbarhot.bmp[3]
mainbarcold.bmp[3]
mainbarcold.bmp[3]
}

Thanks

Charlie

Look at Edit -> Config -> Browser config (or about:config in url bar) the line:
kmeleon.toolband.&Main Bar.visibility
this value must be true for show this buttons, restart K-Meleon if you change it for changes take effect.

Yes, Desga2, you're right, but the menu I gave is the common way to do it.

@caktus,

I don't say to edit toolbars.cfg, but use the menu Display > Toolbars > verify if Main Bar is checked.

JujuLand

I am unable to locate "the menu Display > Toolbars." The closest thing like it I can find is Edit > Preferences > Diplay, Skins, Show Toolbar Background which is checked.

Could you please give the complete path?

Thanks.

Got it now. The buttons are back. Seems everytime I turn around I am learning or figuring out more about using KM.

BTW, I followed desga2's advice and in about:config > kmeleon.toolband.&Main Bar.visibility, I changed the value from false to true. What exactly does this do? Why might I want to change values in about:config?

Thsanks.

Yes, Alain, you're right, the menu you gave is the usual and common way to do it.
View -> Toolbars -> Main Bar

I supposed that caktus were playing with toolbars and he did could hide Menu bar also.

@caktus: "What exactly does this do? Why might I want to change values in about:config?"

If you open about:config, showed before line posted, and change configuration in menu path on top of this post you can see that this config value change. You had to change this configuration in menu without you know it.

You say IM button (Instant messaging as Messenger)?
This buttons don't be installed in K-Meleon toolbar, but you can crete it.
Search in forums as create a new button in toolbar. (I wrote some it)
