I'm using because it's v fast, slightly whacky and it's a challenge !!!
But it's my secondary browser, maxthon is my prime one at the moment, prior to that it was fastbrowser pro.

re slogan - sounds catchy but at first experience it sure doesn't come across as the browser you control - lol
most people will not take the time and effort to find out how to configure it - they''ll more likely feel out of control.
Only the minority who delve into it will feel empowered.

re bloat
I'd stick to positive associations, otherwise k-meleon
[which most people have never heard of] and bloat appear in the same phrase as a first impression - unless your target audience is primarily disenchanted mozilla users.

So slogan depends upon where you want to go with k-meleon and will or wont implement in the next versions.

I don't care for firefox and as well it's undoubted qualities
I like a challenge so I'm going to give k-meleon an extended whirl !!!

Used version: 0.9

1) Which of the following would best describe you as a K-Meleon user?
a) K-Meleon is my default browser and I use it all the time.

2) What are the reasons for the way you use K-Meleon?

a) What are your main reasons to choose K-Meleon as default browser?
GUI-Speed, customizability.

3) How would you like to see K-Meleon improve?
Even more complete docs(some very important features which newbies want can only be found by searching the forums), more easy (read: graphical) configuration, simplifying the menus(we really dont need a dozen of the same options in multiple places and some functions in the menus should be intergrated into the preferences dialog instead of bloating the menus)

a) What are the most important missing features?
adBLOCKing, url-bar autocomplete

b) What possible improvements to K-Meleon's features would you like to see?
two-step mouse-gestures like "up-then-down"

c) What are the most important unsolved bugs?
random crashing (rare, but with a much higher frequency than FX 1.0)

4) What would you like K-Meleon to have as a slogan?
b) K-Meleon - The Browser You Control.

oh, one more: "toolbar background" should be disabled by default, because it looks REALLY ugly if you don't have the default windows color-scheme set, and thats an initial slap in the face for such people, because it gives the impression "k-meleon doesn't care about people like you".

Just try it yourself: set your windows color-scheme to "dark background, bright foreground", then start km with the toolbar-background enabled and imagine its your first start of k-meleon - your first impression.

What are the reasons for the way you use K-Meleon?

With K-Meleon I can REALLY delete cookies (as they are a text file in profile directory).
With K-Meleon I can set cache "zero" and remove the cache directory and, with that, when I reload a page, I KNOW it's a new page, not a bull++ from cache.
I can block popup, I can now kill flash (I hate flash).

What are the most important missing features?

Image placeholders with "load image" like Internet Exploder (yeah, that's the only feature in IE that I like).
"Same image loading" like Firefox and IE (like loading one image and repeating it all over the page, not loading image per image).
Selective cache: I hate cache all the most, but if I could select parts of the page to be in cache would be nicer than saving all the page in cache... and loading the bull++ page from cache and not from site =/).

What are the most important unsolved bugs?

Don't know if it's a bug, but K-Meleon doesn't "like" to navigate without loading images... including some SSL sites that doesn't load if you dont allow to load images.(older K-Meleon versions can, maybe it's a SSL implimentation...)

1. (a) default

2. (a) speed, especially call-up; and NO HYPE--PLEASE keep it that way!!!

3. (a) auto-increment downloaded files of the same name (for speed)
-- bring back optional zip file no-installer manual installation

4. (a) and (b) are both terrible; lack imagination and take a hackneyed underdog stance to IE, plus they whine like Firefox - YECH!! [see 2 (a) ]

(c) "One very smart lizard" (by Arual the Wyrd) says it all perfectly. Just that, if you MUST have a slogan. K-Meleon: One Very Smart Lizard. It's cool, it's savvy, it has nothing negative or stone-throwing in it at all. It's totally positive. And it gets attention; turns heads. I love it!!!

Adblock extention

1) Which of the following would best describe you as a K-Meleon user?
a) I'm using K-Meleon since 0.7. Before i used Mozilla, but it (Mozilla) was really slow
on my AMD K6-2 500 Mhz /160 MB RAM PC

2) What are the reasons for the way you use K-Meleon?
a) What are your main reasons to choose K-Meleon as default browser?
Its fast, customizable, slim and not mainstream (most of FF or Mozilla "exploit" didnt work on K-Meleon)

3) How would you like to see K-Meleon improve?
a) What are the most important missing features?
A better managment of my Bookmarks (there are about 100 or more links ;-) )

4) What would you like K-Meleon to have as a slogan?
b) K-Meleon - The Browser You Control.

At last, i think its a very good project, K-Meleon ist usable, customizable, it fits on my MP3Player/Memorycard and run without an installation.

1) Which of the following would best describe you as a K-Meleon user?

a) K-Meleon is my default browser and I use it all the time.
I love it. There are 1 or 2 sites I go to access an account and pay a
bill that require IE6, otherwise it is always K-Meleon.

2) What are the reasons for the way you use K-Meleon?

a) What are your main reasons to choose K-Meleon as default browser?
The #1 reason is that it is not Microsoft. The real reason is it's speed,
stability (it has yet to lock-up or crash one me), and it's features and easy
they are to use.

3) How would you like to see K-Meleon improve?

a) What are the most important missing features?
The only thing I can think of is a mail client of it's own. One that will
easily import address books and mail folders from both Netscape and IE.
b) What possible improvements to K-Meleon's features would you like to see?
Don't know. It does everything I need in a browser.
c) What are the most important unsolved bugs?
Again, I don't know. I know very little about that stuff. Unless one of those
little buggers jumped up and bit me, I wouldn't know it was there.

4) What would you like K-Meleon to have as a slogan?

a) The Unbloated Mozilla for Windows.
NO
b) K-Meleon - The Browser You Control.
YES
c) Other slogan, give example.
K-Meleon - Your Browser, Your Way

1) Which of the following would best describe you as a K-Meleon user?
a) K-Meleon is my default browser and I use it all the time.

sort of... it is my default browser but I use IE when I need to..

2) What are the reasons for the way you use K-Meleon?

Safer than IE, loads faster than Firefox without need for tricks like preloading

3) How would you like to see K-Meleon improve?
a) What are the most important missing features?

A Firefox-like adblock plugin with a GUI. Or even better: WebWasher as plugin.

b) What possible improvements to K-Meleon's features would you like to see?

1) more control through GUIs instead of text editing.
2) make it easier to store user profiles outside of the program folder (for non-administrators in XP)

c) What are the most important unsolved bugs?

1) The about: blank bug when you try to reload a page, with no way to retrieve the original URL.

2) K-Ms inability to play wmv files (and other embedded media) when the media is wrapped in a flash animation.

4) What would you like K-Meleon to have as a slogan?

c) Cut the crap, cut the bloat, cut the slogans.

1) Which of the following would best describe you as a K-Meleon user?
K-Meleon is my default browser and I use it all the time.

2) What are the reasons for the way you use K-Meleon?
(a) speed, . . . Speed, . . . SPEED!
(b) Security
(c) The ability to configure for max. useable real estate. (all controls in one, narrow toolbar.

3) How would you like to see K-Meleon improve?
STOP adding features and "bells and whistles." Concentrate on the things that made K-Meleon great - item (2) above. Until security vulnerabilities were later discovered Wechselbalg was the greatest K-Meleon EVER.
