Thanls Carson, I like hearing about new freeware releases. It feels appropriate for the forum.

I used to use 7-zip - the BEST compression although you needed a fast proc and lots of RAM to get the best results - but I had to use WinRar, because it was more compatible with all archives.

I don't know about Spybot. I use Bazooka Scanner - freeware from download.com and it's FAST. Scans your whole computer in a second even with a pentium 2. It's surprising thorough, maybe because the program isn't bloated, it doesn't offer resident scanning, and it forces you to remove spyware manually (which is easy because they provide instructions).

Ed,
Hoping you are still around or someone knowledgeable. Didn't know where
else to turn to with this problem as have already tried everywhere else. You
seem quit knowledgeable about Bazooka. Am trying to remove something
from several computers which Bazooka calls " Exploit searchterror.com " .
Followed directions it gives but it's still there. Have tried I believe absolutely
ALL other spyware scanners. None detect anything including the above.
Only is detected by Bazooka.
Am very, very sorry for reviving such an old thread but is driving me nuts.
Know that this forum has most helpful persons of all forums on internet.
Thank everyone

Spybot released a newer version about last week.
Solves some freezes of the progam.
