Need as Many Old Versions of K-Meleon as Possible

Hello. I invite all to post links to as many old versions of K-Meleon as possible. I
am searching for all versions going all the way back. Need official and unofficial
versions. The purpose is to test all to see which works best on very old slow
computers with old operating systems. I am involved in an organization that
encourages the donating to us of old computers rather than the placing of them in
landfills. That way we can make them available to the needy and help the
environment. So that is the need for the older browsers. I am who decides what goes
on the computers. And I say K-Meleon! I am aware of the security risks involved in
the use of old browsers. Thanks for all links.

4 the poster from mail 24/25.anonymouse.org:

The resource requirements of the old versions are about the same as now (which is rare since all other browsers increased resource demands greatly ).

More than 60% are still for official download since IMHO the browser became good for every day use with version 0.65 and the 0.7 update smiling smiley

Private Versions build on Phoenix tend to start up as slow as a Phoenix - they were interesting to show us how to adapt Phoenix aka Firefox extensions - but not practical for surfing.

You need to update the same dll for old OS (95 - NT4 and later).

p.s. there are not that many genuine different builds.

The GRE of older versions are insecure.

An admiralble cause. When you say 'unofficial' versions, are you including K-Ninja? Be sure to check hard drives for risque content before giving old computers to new owners. Don't want any surprises, y'know.

All versions using a K-Meleon.exe made earlier than about
summer 2006 can not be updated to a recent Gecko running
engine and are therefore not apt for safe browsing anymore.
This includes all 0.9 versions and earlier and their derivatives.
The actual minimal versions as NX and ME variations are perfectly
appropriate to run on older and less powerful machines, as long as the
necessary Microsoft runtimes have been installed to make this possible.
All the older versions and variations should only be used in a
nostalgic way for websites that can be considered to be more or
less perfectly safe.
An exception may be possible for pure CD versions which do not
write on the computer that they use, and do not need writing permissions.
For all other old versions the danger of intruders is too
significant nowadays.

Only use the latest release version of K-Meleon and Firefox because older versions have security holes. Old versions of IE are unusuable. K-Meleon is the most light weight serious Windows browser and it should work fine on even a Pentium 60 with Windows 95. If you are finding an old computer too slow for web browsing, look at trying installing more RAM or enabling the flash block feature.

Many older computers could be greatly overclocked, but you would need expert knowledge to help you to do that without damaging something.

Systems with Win9x installed on them would become progressively slower with time as the operating system became blogged down with mess and spyware. If you do a clean reinstall they often run much faster.
