Hello, guys.

I have an fix download-folder where all my download goes in.
From time to time I am downloading several files one after another with the same name.
But, when i download an file and an file already exist with the same name in the download-folder the old file will be overwritten!
Other Browser automatically rename the new file.
Example: Downloading abc.pdf and abc.pdf already exist in the folder, the new file is renamed into abc(1).pdf, the second abc(2).pdf ......

How can i setting K-meleon not to overwrite my old files?

Thank you, good work.

No solution?

Maybe at about:config, searching for download, one of these parameters?

AFAIK You can only manually change the name after the warning that You will overwrite the file.

Else maybe look on the extension page whether there is an extension for it.
But I do not think there is one.

Hello guenter,

there is no warning, the files automatically dropped into my download-folder.
I opened about:config in the seamonkey (FF i cant install on my Comp. don´t no why?) to align to kmeleon settings, but i didn´t find the solution till now.

abandon your download folder.

Go to Preferences -> Browsing -> File Handling
and switch on the radiobutton "Ask where to save the file" instead of "Save the file to the download folder"

Now you'll be prompted about placement and filename of file being saved...
