hi everyone
i'm new here, i down loaded the k meleon browser last night and i have to say so far i am very impressed.
its very fast and doesn't tend to hang like other browsers....i may not have all my bookmarks stored on here yet but i will get round to that soon.

in the meantime i think this browser will be my first choice because like most things in life you prefer things that don't cause you endless frustration like alot of browsers i have caused me.

anyway i hope to hear from fellow k meleon users
perhaps you can tell me that you have been using it for some time without too many problems!

i'm sad to say that already i am experiening problem with page not responding again.
i have the same problem with IE, firefox, netscape, and opera, and just about every browser i have used.
i'm really tiring of putting up with this.
i've tried all the tips about turning of java and the rest but still the problem persists.
can anyone offer any helpful advice?

Problem are in your system, tried to check all network configurations, your antivirus and your firewall.

What windows version are you using?
How connect you to the internet? (modem, router, ADSL, wifi, ...)

i'm using avira antivirus personal.
that seems to work ok....ish
well it catchs the viruses before they do any serious damage...but it can't be that good if i am still having problems : (
i connect with tiscali broadband...4 mg
and i use one of those black boxes with the two green lights at the bottom.
and i use the white small box which i connect my phone line and the black box to.
i'm using windows xp.
thats about all i know!
when i open a window it hangs and when i press the mouse button i get the page not responding warning.
then when i try to close it i get the same message but this time its the square box
with the little yellow stop sign inside the box.
today it happened several times and took a long time before it finally closed.
i am aware that my memory is low but not enough to stop my computer starting up.
every now and then i get the yellow triangle warning me the memory is getting low and some programmes may not work properly.
i don't have too many things on my computer...no more than the average person.
another thing i have noticed recently is since my internet was upgraded to 4 mg
recently, ive noticed that when i upload video clips on youtube, the picture quality is terrible, blocky and unwatchable.
also the playback sound is bad too...not clear and very distorted.
i have attempted to readjust the volume etc but it doesnt make any difference.
i feel so frustrated by all these problems and worser still is the difficulty trying to find a solution to fix them.
another problem is when i check my status i find that i often recieve errors in the errors section.
earlier this afternoon i recieved 8 errors.
other times it has been over 50!
yes over 50.
any idea why that happens?
the compression and bytes parts seem ok.
to honest i dont even know what the compression and bytes section stands for?
i downloaded a spybot thing today and it found alot of spyware and things on my computer and then i deleted them.
somehow i suspect there are more spyware on my computer.
but i'll do a scan tommorow as its late and it takes ages to complete.
right so thats my problems in a nutshell!
can you find a solution please?

I think that this is your first problem:
"black boxes with the two green lights at the bottom" = Broadband Modem/Router
"white small box" = ADSL filters

For it that you talk, i think you have noise/interferences problems in line or as you said a virus/spyware (Antivir is a very good antivirus but not than good with spyware, tried with others specific spyware detectors softwares).

Read this Tiscali help and this other Tiscali help.

Note this:
There are 2 hole to insert one for phone and one for modem, this must be identificated each hole have different effect over devices.

You can found more help in Tiscali Help site.

Try to test your connection with other computer, a friend's laptop for example,
if problems happend with others computers you must contact with Tiscali support service because you have problems with your phone line or your DSL connection.
