I've had a Hotmail account for around seven years. I always hated it, but it was sometimes useful. It was more of a pain in the parts, having to log in just to keep it. Today I took their cr@p about "upgrading" my browser for the last time. I hit the "feedback" link and gave the arrogant barstits an all-caps blast. Then I did everything necessary to get rid of the account (which will still take a few months to die, blast it!). May they burn in hIEll.

The same arrogant update notices annoy me with yahoo - They do not like when they find Windows 9x 4.90 as OS (= ME) and K-Meleon as browser while they support Win2000 and XP and Firefox. WinME is a 32 bit OS that is capable enough to handle a PC connected with Yahoo. And it does not matter which new Gecko browser visits, they have the same engine a Gecko is a Gecko.

I only can view videos with Firefox, even when I don't meet all system requirements. They request WM 11 when with Firefox, activex and WM 9 (under windows 2000 is the latest version) I can use the web :-?

You can change your User Agent string: Tools -> User Agent
to access this sites.
I like put this custom User Agent:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.17pre) Gecko/20080716 K-Meleon/1.1.6 IS NOT Firefox

(This works as Firefox User Agent)

I am as upset as "Arual the Wyrd" each and every time such insolence happpens to me
(e.g. because i forgot to switch to Firefox user agent string).

p.s. I know about Firefox's agent string. I know to use new mail with "not supported" OS and browsers. ( I can log into such places even with an old K-Meleon 06 & Windows ME! )

BTW. My yahoo account was initially created to research what / which strings K-Meleon users need to use new Yahoo mail. While I personally feel that yahoo "classic" (old) mail is the better deal.

The trouble with changing the agent string -- as I found out the hard way -- is that then some sites will serve up garbage-code that only IE can digest. v-Bulletin forums are horrible for that. I've decided that my pet lizard and I are going to just be us, and if the cr@psiters don't like it they can just take less hits.
