Gecko engine from ... SM 1.1.14.
Sounds like a plan to me.
Reasonable even if it takes some time.
BTW. You can create Your own update now.
Users that wanted have done this since 01.04.2005
Always backup the files that You want to replace.
There might be easier ways but the described procedure gives You a way back!
You can install or unpack K-Meleon 1.5.2 RC somewhere, copy to K-Meleon 1.5.1 files from ./K-Meleon1.5.2/kplugins folder and ./K-Meleon1.5.2/*.exes, use 1.5.2 ./K-Meleon1.5.2/components/chrome.dll and chrome.xpt. And update the rest of the ./K-Meleon1.5.1/components/*.dll and ./K-Meleon1.5.1/components/*.xpt plus all ./K-Meleon1.5.1/*.dll with files from e.g. Fred's GRE update for older K-Meleons.
After that You delete ./K-Meleon1.5.1/components/compreg.dat and ./K-Meleon1.5.1/components/xpti.dat.
I did it & got: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-DE; rv:1.8.1.19) Gecko/20081204 K-Meleon/1.5.2. :cool:
Actually I also had to edit the pref("general.useragent.vendorSub", "1.5.2");
in ./K_Meleon/defaults/pref/kmeleon.js
p.s. I used Fred's (thx for the update!) since they are preselected for K-Meleon and because download of SeaMonkey from Mozilla.org was estimated to take 71 hours
