I have the same ennoying problem in the URL Bar with 1.1.5.

I know there are threads which talk about this. Search in forums for backspace

I think that this problem is solved in 1.1.6, but I haven't try it.

Backspace to go back page works in 1.5 version. (not in 1.1.X)
To disable it in 1.5:
Go to Edit -> Configurations -> Accelerators, and add this line at the end of file, save changes in file and restart K-Meleon:

VK_BACK = macros(NO_Backspace)

Or you can created a macro with this sentence:
setaccel("VK_BACK", "");
