Yeah.. When I open a tab, K-Meleon automatically goes to it. I looked in the options but I couldn't find a way to stop it from doing this.
Why do You click a link
Left click is opens by default in this tab. That is intended.
right-click over link and select e.g. open in background tab? (menus are case sensitive)
Or use mouse gesture? default up = new; down in background or any custom You select.
p.s. If You are accustomed to another browser's behavior go to Tools & choose Mouse Accelerators like Firefox, SeaMonkey or Opera.

How do stop K-Meleon from going to a newly opened tab?
