RE: SMS

I know several folks, my self included and I imagine most find SMS a real PITA. I, and other's wish there was a way to permanently block them. There is a way that only blocks them for 15 minutes(big help...sic). I hate getting up from what I am doing and running to answer my cell phone only to find that it is only some crap I am not interested in. Even worse, when I am in the middle of serving a business client. I find SMS about as unwelcome and rude as telemarketing.

True, can be useful. But some people are just plain rude.

Yep same problem as dude above. I'm using KM 1.50 but there is no web services. Therefore I assume this is only suitable for 1.52 +

you know what sucks. I just did that for his GSPACE plugin but I forget. I know I can edit it to put it in WebSearches instead of Web Services. But then its not where you would want it. I'll try to figure it out before they give you an easy answer lol.

Edit: Its in the menus.cfg file but from there I have no clue

the menu access is under tools>message services>sms.. webservices is not a menu on its own, just an indicator of what part of tools menus to place the entry.. this is the same in 1.1.x versions so it can be accessed the same way as in 1.5

for some unofficial kms like fred versions where webservices may be missing; download this macro:
http://kmeleon.swiftfree.net/macros/kmsms-nows.kmm

the extension sms monster is a gui for this webservice http://worldsms.co.cc/
you can't send a message to an unsupported provider.. but they are always updating so hopefully if a provider isn't listed, they will be adding it soon.

Thanks Disrupted, with the macro you supplied I've managed to get it working now. I should point out that the K-Meleon I'm using is 1.5.0 and a 'official' version. It's not one of Fred's or anyone else's version.

Thanks again from a happy K-Meleon Devotee

i'm glad the macro made it work paul.. but webservcies should exist in officila 1.5.0, there might be something wrong in your menus.cfg file.

try this, download this original 1.5.0 menus.cfg file:
http://kmeleon.swiftfree.net/tests/menus.cfg

save in:
K-meleon\defaults\settings folder
delete kmsms-nows macro and use the oringial kmsms.kmm file.
check if original kmsms macro now adds the menu entry properly

Thanks again disrupted, that did the trick. All is correct now. Obviously a corrupted cfg folder. How that happened I've no idea as I don't use registry cleaners or change the reg settings without expert guidance.

Anyway alls well that ends well.

Many thanks for your help, I must say K-Meleon has a really friendly and helpful community on this forum, a lot of other software support groups could learn a thing or two from here. smiling smiley

that's strange icq..are you sure you saved all files in the proper folders?
make sure those 2 files are inside k-meleon\chrome folder:
kmsms.manifest
kmsms.jar

if it's still not working, then try this macro: (save it in k-meleon\macros folder)
http://kmeleon.swiftfree.net/tests/kmsmsicq.kmm

and see if sms service is added under edit>sms service menu

if it still isnt working, then add this link to your bookmarks or favourites:
http://worldsms.co.cc/
this is the site sms monster connects to..you'll have all the fearures of the extension but it will just take you to the page in a tab instead of small window.

edit: it'd be very nice to have an indonesian locale, but check first if there's an indonesian seamonkey..this will make it much easier to translate as you won't have to worry much about chrome files and only translate km dialogs/kplugins..when you're ready just contact gunter and kko; they are responsible for translations.

yes xgrind's macro does indeed increase performance..i'l test combining it with your strings..thanks for the tip smiling smiley
i looked for seamonkey indoesian edition..but no official one yet..but it seems they are working on it:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/SeaMonkey:Localization_Teams#Indonesian_.28in-IN.29
i think better to give them few months and see if they finish it first..because otherwise you will have to translate a lot of files ..if you want to do it all including the chromes..then please contact gunter, alain or kko because they will guide and provide assistance on how to do it.

Remember that exist an old SpeedUp macro in MacroLibrary that can help you.

Someone must updated it if this isn't right or there are better/new prefs/values.
