k ...here i comes the GORILLA 2 K-MELEON !!!


Few words about this one:It is made on the last official version 1.5.2

The installer is 4.66 MB .

Extracted is 5.82 MB.A lot of the stuff has been removed in order to get a workable slim K-meleon.

This version it is designed to work on European and American pages .

It will automaticaly open the wwwh graphixanstuff`s page because i am lazy and i set it this way so i don`t have to type... hysterical.gif

I also modified the user string agents in order to make the k-meleon a real k-meleon..

You will find that he can identify itself as safari , firefox runing on diferent types of OS`s..


Check the EDIT--->Preferences --->Privacy and security--->Paranoia..

The rest of it you can see for yourself .I also uploaded some screen shots ...

Congratulations on your lightweight K-meleon. It's an excellent exercise and proof of concept. Truly more a lean and mean bantam-weight rather than a gorilla. :-)

Well, there's some goodies hidden in about:config...

K-meleon is fast anyway but with a little crazy tweaking here and there,You can make it fly..

Some eastern Europe characters are not shown correctly. I can't get url to the top, (near Tools). I can't get Bookmarks at line 4 from top since only half of line is shown. If i click on popups, Km crashes.

All this are minor problems, though.

Since this version does not have a loader, you can load Km with programm launcher. This will load KM faster than double click on Kmeleon.exe (gain of about 20% - tested on my comp).

Yeah , i know that... remember... this one has been designed for europe and american webpages mostly...

Ssadly for Eastern European People there are much more English speakers in the world than East Europeans...

Awright.... I am gonna take a look at the pop up stuff but i can not promise nothing..I mean... there is a limit on what we can chop ,and slim without having to give up at stuff...

The reason I am back to the drawing board is that i do not know what files are necesary for EE characters to work!!

I was not especially concerned with EE so i has not payed much attention at it...

I knew about what You complained and slow trace route led to AT and stopped there in error. So I only knew that You were not speaking de-DE.

p.s. Caught, You do a Slovenian K-M and tell Gorilla what the word monkey sounds like in some Balkan languages

Look...I have been working on the K-meleon lately...As far as i can tell without speaking the language the K-meleon is now able to recognize the russian caracters

Now Gorilla2 K-meleon will recognize Arab caracters, Russian caracters ,Greek one And ....SLOVENIAN

That`s the best i can no without actually speaking the language...

In order to make it perfect i should be able to speak Slovenian wich i am not..

But...you could make it alone ...If you are interesed i can upload my notices in a rtf or .doc format and you can trace my movements step by step.....
And since you DO speak slovenian you will be able to detect what i missed...

PS:It is Going to take a while tough even if you do speak the language......

If you would have carefully read trough my posting history,You would have noticed that i am not a pro...

Merly an enthuziast, an amateur if you like ,who set to modify a quite sofisticated program which REAL PROGRAMERS SOMETIMES HAVE PROBLEMS IN MAKING IT WORK...

I clearly stated that...

Nevertheless i am learning....

By the way Guenter and I ...(Mostly Guenter than I because i was so darn bussy with the exams and stuff)..

I mean JUST HOW MANY foreign languages teachers do you think the schools can employ...?!!
I must have a martirdom wish or something deep embeded in me otherwise i can see no reason i am keep on learning ...

And I know how you feel, I have been there (but not for 60 hours straight...)

No matter what, your studying will be worthy in the long run. The planet is now a global village and if you can't be a language teacher there'll be plenty other opportunities for a polyglot if you look for them.

Plus learning makes you live longer...
