hi,
it seems to me that k-meleon is faster (and load pages faster) if, instead of installing it, i just launch the .exe file everytime i need to use it.
in fact i didn't install it at all on my pc, not yet at least. Anyone got the same impression?
I do not use installed versions, only portable ones.
Ahh, I've heard this sort of thing before. Is it due to compressed files?

No. I think this is No baked Gorilla teritory.
Actually some say that the compressed file makes the K-meleon slower as they have to be decompresed later on in the ram...
My experiences with a 223 MB ram old laptop were not conclusive...
To my eye it seemed as fas as before not faster not slower..Compressed or uncompressed.
The only difference that was it was that it was a very small K-meleon..
And the fact that i learned a lot regarding what you can delete out of K-meleon and what you can not..

Once you mentioned that I thought the same thing. Must have got it zipped then opened it?

I do not use installed versions, only portable ones.
