Need help with User Agent strings.

I am using 1.5.2.

I saved
user_pref("kmeleon.privacy.useragent3.name", "IE6/win|NT5");
user_pref("kmeleon.privacy.useragent3.string", "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; SPINWAY.COM;

.NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)");

in prefs.js to add IE to the user agents. Now Default, IE6/win/NT5 and Reset To Default On Exit all are selected except when FF is SM are selected. Can some one help me select ONLY Default, IE6/win/NT5 or Reset To Default On Exit.

Thank you.

Charlie

I do not know what You intend - sorry just a language problem.

To add a user agent I go to ./my-K-Minstall-folder/Defaults/Pref/I10n.js

And I add 2 prefs @ the end of privacy section (prefs @ bottom of post). Each is one line starting with pref! This gives me normal/default behavior for the new User Agent String.

pref("kmeleon.privacy.useragent3.name", "IE6/winNT5");
pref("kmeleon.privacy.useragent3.string", "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; SPINWAY.COM; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)");

p.s. I used / instead "|" since that may mean something in code.
And I could not find "|" on my keyboard.

I don't know exactly what is your problem.

Do you like your IE string like Default string?

Default string is the K-Meleon UA string.
You must selected one UA string of (in your case):
Default
Firefox 2
Seamonkey 1.1
IE

And optionally you can select "Restart to Default on Exit", this cahnge to the K-Meleon UA string when you close K-Meleon.

K-Meleon in Spanish

@guenter and desga2

Thanks Guy's. I managed to solve the problem by installing a recent back up of K-Meleon1.5.2en-US which gave me exactly what I wanted. I didn't learn anythingsad smiley, but it fixed my problem.smiling smiley

BTW, is anyone else experiecing a problem with the Sleepy Smiley? All I get is _

@guenter on my [cheap] keyboard the |is above the back slash [\] key. For some strange reason it is broken in two pieces on the key, took me years to learn that. Also, it can be copied and pasted.

Thanks Guy's.

AltGr (Right Alt) + 1 (keyboard key not numpad).

On any German keybord ? is above \ .grinning smiley

Yes can be copy/pasted (i obviously did) or on my PCs fetched from layout lists of pspad (my powerfull default editor) - but i could not find n a my laptop keybord.

p.s. i finally found | today - together with >< on the same key
= senior moments have struck again.

BTW. Try my strings as they are - they worked here.
