I have fred's km 1.53 linux and was wondering why the setdefault.exe doesnt work with this version for me. There another way to set the browser as default? and please dont tell me to look @ the faq here. I think it was written for earlier versions as setting the file associations in windows explorer doesnt seem to do the trick either.

thank you

SetDefault works with all the last versions of K-Meleon.

Unfortunately, K-Meleon is created for Windows, not for Linux.

Setdefault sets K-Meleon default for all the programs launched with wine, not the Linux programs, or the shortcuts or local files.

I have made an extension to correct these problems:

-for local files, convert Linux path to Windows path
- set the extension (which launches K-Meleon) as default for local files and shortcuts.
- set the extension (which launches K-Meleon) as default for programs
- correct mimetypes to allow to launch linux programs instead of windows programs.

It runs without problem under Ubuntu, and ought to work also under builds. The extension hasn't yet been packaged, and as I'm a little busy, you will have to wait for.
