Wondering if there is a way to change the toolbar icons to text only.

download this "skin"
http://kmext.sf.net/skins/textonly.zip

extract in your k-meleon\skins folder

open kmeleon preferences >gui appearance and select 'textonly' from the skin dropdown menu
