Great news. I never stopped using K-Meleon. The K-Meleon74c version seems to work perfectly.
Thank you very much, Dorian.

I did some modification in kmeleon74c :

1-Flash blocker (the old one)+flash blocker button .
2-policy manager (fix some bug).
3-Clear history (Clear history in the new privacy plugin didn't work).
4-Edit cookies.
5-modification of some macros .
6-remove some errores in manifests.

We still have some useless files from UI for firefox , i will delete it in future & may be keep some of java script files imported by few of new Extensions.

Also we still have some bugs :

-right click menu in xul.
-address bar & password fill.
-java script alert.

Notes:

To download the file you should enable javascript 'i had facing hard time in upload this file' .

To enable flash blocker ( the old one) Tools>privacy>block flash + enable java script .

naruman,

Really great! The old flashblock is back. The policy manager now works without the autoit file. I am still testing things.

Thanks

It's seem that the CurProcD 'Current working directory' has changed from main path 'k-meleon folder' to 'k-meleon\browser' .

Which cause some proplem in Preferences.

So for now we need to copy macros folder to [k-meleon\browser] ,that will solve some Preferences's items proplem till fixing the pref.

I tried this version and for me does not work well.
Each page is zoomed out? I do not know how to solve this.

solution for zoom is to open Preferences->Page Display and set Default Zoom slider to 100%

(naruman wrote that his version has default zoom set down to 30% for some reason)

This is fix for few bugs in preferences :

-Display of some preferences items .
-Zoom (New user first run).

instructions:

-Extract the file in k-meleon folder.
-If you copy 'macros' folder to [k-meleon\browser] , delete it it's useless now (You should keep the one in main k-meleon folder) .
-Delete "startupCache" folder in [ k-meleon\Profiles\] it's store backup of chromes causing false results.

OK, I go away for the weekend and a lot happens. I have added the fix and I missed the copy of macros part. What was this to fix?

I take it this did not address the hotlinks and macro extentions items in this other thread.

Part of the last fix is to solve the bug of [ hotlink & macros list ] items in preferences .

If it didn't fix the bugs :

Re-extract the file to main km folder & delete the folder 'k-meleon\Profiles\ startupCache' or any other folders Except your Profile folder 'its name in k-meleon\Profiles\profiles.ini' .

I extracted again and deleted the folder you noted. That left only the dot default profile folder and the file profile.ini. I then started KM and I did not see any change. Did I follow all your steps correctly?

James,
this should be extracted into naruman's own assembly, not in Dorian's one.

This is little strange , Did anyone else has faced the same problem ?

Anyway Try to Paste & Go the following links:

[ chrome://kmprefs/content/pref-kmacros.xul ] Then [ chrome://kmprefs/content/pref.xul?kmacros ]

and

[ chrome://kmprefs/content/pref-hotlinks.xul ] then [ chrome://kmprefs/content/pref.xul?hotlinks ]

What do you see ?

There are only two files involved, I think. The first is k-meleon74c+1.rar and the second is k-meleon pref Fix.rar. I extracted the first to disk and the second one to the k-meleon folder that the first made. Did I miss a file?

chrome://kmprefs/content/pref-kmacros.xul ] Then [ chrome://kmprefs/content/pref.xul?kmacros

The first got me the macros extension plugin panel. The one where you mark if you wish to use the plugin. However, no macro names are shown in the listing. The second part gets preferences but it does not show the macro extension.

That mean you still have the bug try the following:

-Use a new copy of K-Meleon (with out profiles) .
-Delete "toolkit" folder from [k-meleon\browser\chrome].
-Extract this file to main km folder.
-Make sure that "toolkit" folder is in [k-meleon\browser\chrome]

Edit:

If you still have no 'macro names' :

-Extract this test file to km folder (replace old files) .
-Delet 'startupCache' if there's one , then run km.
-Go to [ chrome://kmprefs/content/pref-kmacros.xul ] .
-open [ about:config ] & search for [km.path].

Do you see something like ['your system path'\kmeleon] . ?

@JamesD

Is there's a 'browser' word in your system path like :

C:\Program Files\ browsers\K-Meleon.

@chinarobin

I not sure about win8.1*64.
was win8 able to run km 74c by Dorian ?

Thx to all : k-meleon 74 is getting better better all the time. But I think there is a problem with plugin-container.exe : the full screen flash e.g. in Youtube videos leads to crashes all the time.

Am I the only one to experience this? And if I put dom.ipc.plugins.enabled to false then I'm no longer able to listen to music audio on Deezer and myspace.

Is there a solution for that?

Thx in advance

Rodocop,

I did it both ways. As I don't have this problem with the other browsers installed on my computer (Opera and Seamonkey) I suppose it must be something in the plugin-container.exe.

Also I don't have the problem of full screen adobe / flash crash in your K-Meleon twin+

Their are some K-Meleon 74 files can be replaced by Firefox 26.0 Files.

You can use files both beta and candiate versions of Firefox 26.0

The files which do not work are:
1. gkmedias.dll
2. mozjs.dll
3. omni.jar
4. xul.dll

K-Meleon 74 seems to work faster with Firefox 26.0 files than 25.0 files to me.

I think I have found the error that I made. I am not used to RAR files or the program extractnow. I think I failed to change no to yes for one or both of the overwrites.

I tried this as a test and the correct items in hotlinks and macro extensions are appearing. I may have failed item 9 previously.

 1. Create an empty folder in C:\Program files.
 2. Extract the k-meleon74c+1.rar file to the empty folder.
 3. A k-meleon folder is created.
 4. Navigate to the file "k-meleon.exe" and double-click.
 5. A profiles folder is created.
 6. Navigate to the profiles folder.
 7. Delete the folder named startupCache.
 8. Extract the k-meleon pref Fix.rar file to the k-meleon folder.
 9. Make sure to allow overwrites.
10. Double-click on "k-meleon.exe".

Sorry to have caused so much work/worry for so many of you. Thanks for the help. I am now going back to do steps 7, 8, and 9 again to my original cn+1 version.

Good to see all of km users.

New Fixing/modification of km74:

-Fixing the history tab in preferences .
-Add/fix console2 .
-Add Permission Manager 'exexcept'.

instructions:

-Extract the file in k-meleon folder [ overwrite the old files ].
-If you have profiles , Delete "startupCache" folder in [ k-meleon\Profiles\] .

Bug:

-It's seem that the bug "embedding context" still in both 'omni.ja\chrome' & 'browser\chrome' cuseing crash km in view source code of errors.

Notes :

I have final fix for "embedding context" bug ,but it will need some time correct it .

--

@Dorian

The bug of open xul from anther "embedding context" come from calling the component "nsTypeAheadFind.js".

This file is fix the bug , but have side effect (loading pages with blacke screen).

And about right click menu in xul , i have some ides :

-Maybe you let the ' xulruner' deal with chrome 'with out km control '.
-Or add xulruner (exe) to km and use the command prompt 'cmd' to run chrome files 'maybe by macros'.

I don't know if this things can be done , hope you have the the good solutions .

@Mala Okeh

plugin-container.exe crash when clicking full screen while the video is paused .

You can use this script to change the flash player to another plugin or HTML5's video player(km 74).

@George Hall

With out 'omni.jar' it's mean nothing , but km can use it with replace the interfaces 'interfaces.xpt' with the one of 25. [it will increase html5 test points].
