@ Mala

You are right. The print preview does not work. Also I tried the print command and while that did print, it also killed my view of KM. Task manager said KM was running but I had no screen and no icon in the tray. I had to stop the process using task manager.

These actions are handled by "ID" commands and I cannot fix them.

# ----- Main Bar

Print{
&Print...=ID_FILE_PRINT
Print Pre&view=ID_FILE_PRINTPREVIEW
Page Set&up=ID_FILE_PRINTSETUP
#bmpmenu()
}

@JamesD

After I read that Print Preview had a problem, I checked if the print command had a problem .

I clicked both prnnt icon and print feom the file menu and slected cancel

When I did the browser crashed leaving k-meleon.exe still in the memory.

The following addrress looks for intalled plugis

http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

The previpus website workks for both K-Meleon 1.6.0 Beta 2.6 and Firefox.

I figured out why the about:plugins from in K-Meleon 74 based on Firefox 25.0

does not work.

It does not work because the plugins.html form Firefox 21.0 and later use Addon ManagerResource.

K-Meleon 74 does not use or can;t use the Firefox Addon Manager.

The about:plugins fiies from Firefox 20.0 worked with K-Meleon 74

Because Firfox 20.0 does not use the Addon Manager resource.

Hello, George,

would it be possible to send us the plugin files from Firefox 20 so that everybody can improve his version of k-meleon 74?

Thanks in advance.

You can download Firefox 20.0,1 at

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/20.0.1/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%2020.0.1.exe

Then you can extract omni,aj from it with 7-z or WINRAR.

To opene omn.ja ypu have Windows7 Compresed Folder after renaming it to a zip file.

The compression programss WinRAR and Bandizip can open the omni.ja wothout renaimg the file.

The about:plugins files are located at:

omni.ja\chrome\en-US\locale\en-US\global\plugins.properties
omni.ja\chrome\en-US\locale\en-US\global\region.properties

omni.ja\chrome\toolkit\content\global\plugins\plugins.css
omni.ja\chrome\toolkit\content\global\plugins\plugins.html

Extracted them omni.ja from the Firefox Executbale File then open the omn.ja file
Extractd Thosee above files then add to the K-Meleon 74 omni.ja file.

Thats what I did

Please forget my PluginEval macro. It is not needed to see the Mozilla page at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ . KM just needs to report a BuildID value.

This requires some changes to main.kmm in KM 74.

1. Look and verify that the following line is in main.kmm.
$pref_BuildID="general.buildID.override";
It should be a line 341 or in that area.

2. Search for 'pref_ToggleColors{' without the single quotes. Between pref_ToggleColors{ and pref_ToggleCookies{ add the following section.
pref_ToggleBuildID{
macroinfo=_("Toggle pref_BuildID usage");
menuchecked=getpref(STRING,$pref_BuildID);
if(getpref(STRING,$pref_BuildID)){delpref($pref_BuildID);}else{setpref(STRING,$pref_BuildID,"0000000000");} &_pref_SyncButtons;
statusbar(sub("%s",getpref(STRING,$pref_BuildID)?$off:$on,_("BuildID usage %s")));
}
3. Search for 'setmenu($__m,macro,"Block HTTP &Referer",pref_ToggleReferer);' without the single quotes. Below that line but before the line with # edit menu (Type Ahead Find) add the following code.
setmenu($__m,separator,-1);
setmenu($__m,macro,"Use &BuildID",pref_ToggleBuildID);
4. Save the file main.kmm.
5. Restart KM 74 and look in TOOLS - PRIVACY for "Use BuildID". Click on the item to toggle BuildID on.
6. Retry the Mozilla page.

Don't thank me. This was build by Deadlock. I had just forgotten where the menu should be. I had not toggled the BuildID on in my beta 2.6 or it would have worked before.

into the macro folder of K-Meleon 74

To find more mistakes like check plugins problem becuase K-Meleon 74 was mssing the buildid toggle setting that was available in K-Meleon 1.6.0Beta2.6

Which allows K-Meleon 1.6.0Beta2.6 to sucessfully check plugins at the mozilla
website below:

http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

I would suggest comparing the default macros of K-Meleon 1.6.0Beta2.6
To the default macros of K-Meleon 74

Gestures has a bug in K-Meleon 74.

When Gestures in enabled on you can't scroll up and down with the scollbar.

When click and hold scrollbar it just stays in the same position when you try scoll up and down.

When Gestures is disabled you can scroll up and with no problems at all.

It needs to be changed to be completely compatible with K-Meleon 74.

the gestures kplugin is the same one used in K-Meleon 1.6.0Beta2.6.

So it needs to be updated. The scrolling in K-Meleon 74 must be different in K-Meleon 74 because K-Meleon 1.6.0Beta2.6 is based on a different engine core.

Open the 'bug 1379' and 'bug 1380' record at bugtracker

But it cannot be marked as bug for KM74 so I'll duplicate the description here:

Quote

bookmarks.dll kplugin beginning from KM74c doesn't understand cyrillic symbols in bookmark names but DOES understand them after manual rewriting name.

The kplugin version which come with KM74b (108544 bytes from 07.11.2013) works bug-free.

If can't get adblock plus to work with k-Meleon 74.

We might be able to adblock lite to work because it is based on the adblock plus 1.3.x UI and is contained in a jar chrome file>

K-Meleon 1.6.x Browsers use adblock plus 1.3.10 which also uses a jar cjrome file.

This may be a temporary fix until we figure out how make adblock plus 2.0 and higher to work with K-Meleon 74

AdBlock 1.3.10 has a kplugin (adblockplus.dll) as a dependency. This one must be recompiled to be compatible with the new kmeleon.exe.

When the K-Meleon folder structure would finally take it shape we'll be able to ask Wladimir Palant to create new AdBlock for K-Meleon like he did in past.

I know the the kplugin (adblockolus.dll) ha a dendency.

We could make a kplugin adblock lite considering it stucture is similar to adblock plus 1.3.10.

It may easier for us to do that until someone fgures out how to install adblock plus 2.0 and higher into K-Meleon 74

with a kplugin for adblock lite we could install adblock lite into the extensions folder like flash Block in K-Meleon 74.

The K-Meleon 74d Password Manager needs password autocomplete like firefox or a password popup menu like K-Meleon the previous version of K-Meleon before K-Meleon 1.7 alphas were created.

Also a password import export extension or function would really improve K-Meleon.

The ability to import passwords from firefox and K-Meleon 1.6 would be very useful.

Their is a password exporter extension called pwexporter at the K-Meleon Extension Center for K-Meleon 1.6 that also allowed importing passwords to and from xml and csv files.

If this extension could be modified to work to work with K-Meleon 74d. Then the Password Manager would be even more useful.

Firefox also has a version of that same Password Exporter called pwexporter.

We could import firefox passwords from xml and csv files as well because the same type of files with the same format are created with firefox password exporter pwexporter.

I found what causes the flash plugin full screen bug. When "Run this program as an administrator" is enabled. Then flash plugin crashes when you click full screen.

This bug is not present in K-Meleon 1.6.0Beta2.6.

Just a wild guess I tried to see if it worked when I selected "Run this Program in compatibilty mode" for "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)". Then clicking full screen did not did not crash the flash plugin.

We know how and why the K-Meleon 74 flash bug crashes the flash plugin when we click full screen.

K-Meleon 1.6 does not have this bug so does not crashes if use compatibility mode or run as administrator mode is selected.

The flashblock in K-meleon 74d has a bugs it can not use the white list or the privacy permissions like K-Meleon 74c+1 can,

Having flashblock in flashblock.jar would solve this problem.

I think I have run into a small problem with the 74 code. This appears to happen in both Dorian's and naruman's code. When I right click a link and open in a new tab, I cannot highlight and copy text from the newly opened tab. If I go to another tab and return then I can copy text. It is easy to see if you have the problem because if you do then the highlighted text has a gray background instead of a blue background.

This little "bug" was already there in all versions / builds of k-meleon 1.7. The easiest and quickest "solution" to that : instead of opening a new tab and then return : just click in the urlbar addrss and grey turns into blue.

Nice week-end

Not sure what you mean by cannot highlight and copy James. I see what you mean by the grey highlight and what Mala mentions which does change it to blue, as does your tab switch method, but I can highlight text, albeit with the grey background, and copy and paste that text into another application.

I am using the first version of 74.

I'm finding some strange happening with the latest version of km74 on my Vista 32 bit machine.

1. I'm currently using km 1.6, and when I go to the km74 download page and click on download, km 1.6 freezes up, and I have use task manager to shut it down. To d/l km74, I had to use Chrome which worked fine.

2. I installed km74 and it worked well using the favorites folder from the bookmarks except hotmail would not open even after entering the password. Later when I went back to hotmail, it opened directly to the outlookmail page without entering the pw. Delayed reaction, I guess

3. When I installed km74 I went to the tool icon and tried to open preferences, the page came up blank. I tried several times, even after rebooting the pc. After a few days I retried to open preferences, and it opened. I made a few changes including: checking the favorites and un cheking the bookmarks plugins, unchecked the progress bar on full screen and some changes on the history section.
I wanted to see the full page results, and wasn't sure which f key to push, so I pushed them all in succession. The screen changed and everything on the page became tiny. I restarted km74 and also rebooted the pc and observed the following:

A. The search engine box was about 2pt type,
B. When I went to favorites (bookmark) icon, it opened Internet explorer.
C. When I tried pressing the f keys again, f1, or f2 opened the the help page in 2pt type on the left hand side of the screen.

4. I deleted the km74 and d/l a new copy today (using Chrome) and installed it, created a new short icon and got the same results as described above. I used Revo uninstaller to see if it were an installed progrom, but it isn't.

I don't know what more I can do, except wait for the next revision to come out.

As others figured out, go to
F2 > Page Display > Default Zoom
Change it from 30% to 100%, and at least the size prob is fixed.

As far as downloading goes, I'm on KM1.6 too and can download without probs by right-clicking and "Save Link Target As"
But I know what you mean: When left-clicking on a 7z-link, for some funny reason KM opens 7z-files as a normal browser page instead of asking for a saving path! That means first it waits until the whole huge file is downloaded in the background, and then it starts displaying it as gibberish letters. It's not frozen, just takes really long. If anyone knows a fix for that I'd be interested too!

There is no fix. It's the server and how serves the file.

Here it's sending as:
Content-Type: text/plain

In other servers, usually, it's sent as:
Content-Type: application/x-7z-compressed

Seamonkey fails with this too, Opera doesn't. That's because Gecko browsers treat text/plain as what it is, simple text, not a binary file. Opera, or other browsers, don't open text files directly.

MIME type text/plain is processed internally so not much chances. Indeed, Seamonkey alerts you that won't offer you with options, unless the server specifies it.

Flash Player Full Screen Bug fix is to add the system varibale MOZ_DISABLE_OOP_PLUGINS and set its value to 1.

Then flash plugin won't crash when you click full screen.

plugin-container.exe is casusing the problem it crashes certain plugin with run certains plugins as an "out-of-process" plugin.

The follwing link show how to set the MOZ_DISABLE_OOP_PLUGINS system variable.
http://www.fluxbytes.com/software-tips/how-to-disable-plugin-container-exe/

MOZ_DISABLE_OOP_PLUGINS = 1 fixes problem.

It is a Windows Variable not a Firefox or K-Meleon 74 variable.
