K-Meleon Web Browser Forum
Has anyone upgraded from Vista to 7? I am not sure if 7 supports K-Meleon anyway. I have no immediate plans to upgrade any day soon as, unlike a totally clean install, I think it will take some time. Apparently you will have to uninstall your AV, certain anti-malware apps, apps like Open Office, Abiword, QuickTime, iTunes & others before upgrading. There is also a Windows downloading tool to check all of your software first as well. I have been told it can take several hours to get it all sorted. All of which seems too bloody long to me! :O
I have just got Vista running as I like it as well. It is probably best to wait a year at least to see if these Win 7 upgrades are problematical.

I have just bought a new computer with Windows 7 pre installed. After getting it online the first thing I did was download a new installation of K-Meleon. It ran perfectly straight away and I've been using it every day without problems

Not that personally I'd need it anytime soon, but one never knows, and at any rate good to know KM is future-safe! ;-)
Yeah, it's good to know that KM runs on 7. I may buy a new laptop sometime next year. Probably nearer September, so it is good to know that I can download KM onto 7.

The reason that you should make a professional version if you buy it is because I can use a mode compatible with XP
I used Windows Update to download and install Update for Windows XP KB971513. It updates some XP libraries to the same ones Windows 7 uses. Makes my K-Meleon 1.5.3 run faster.
