I think KM's command line options may be able to do this.

-new Starts a new browser instance. Available since K-Meleon 1.1.

-P "profile name" Starts K-Meleon with the specified profile.

Yes. I always use " -new" to run different K-Meleon versions at the same time.

I changed the properties of their respective desktop shortcuts to e.g.:

E:\.k-meleon1.6beta2.en-US\k-meleon.exe -new

E:\.kmeleon.1.8.0.build.10\k-meleon.exe -new

E:\.kmeleon.1.8.0.build.11\k-meleon.exe -new

...

This requires that each has an individual Profile. I use Profiles which can be created in the K-Meleon folder and not centrally stored ones in APP Data.

BTW I have never used the options " -P "profile name"" or " -new" in the command line. grinning smiley

I wonder. Maybe You can use both command line options via the desktop shortcut?

All ways lead to Rome... grinning smiley
And me I'm starting KM from the quickstart bar, a button for each different version, and their targets set for example to
C:\K-Meleon1.6.0_BETA26\k-meleon.exe -new
etc.
The profiles I choose at every start again, just suits me better:
