animated gif and Spellchecker

Might as well learn about 2 things here
1.)
for some websites, I have an animated *.gif file as an avatar. In KM, gif does not animate. Is there a way to make it animate? Or did I do some incorrect settings somewhere?
2.)
When answering or asking on sites like this, in FF (haven't used IE for ages) there is a spellchecker and wrong typing is underlined.
I am not sure if that is from the sites I am on or is it FF?
In KM I have to check everything myself, is there a way to have spellcheck with K-Meleon?

I don't think KM uses animation in website icons. I put an animated gif into a web page and tried it out. The image was static.

Update

There is a spellcheck extension on this page. http://kmext.sourceforge.net/ext7.htm

1.) Check settings via F2 -> Page Display -> Images -> Loop Animated Images.
( If You did not refer to the favicons which were commented by JamesD )

2.) Yes, posted by JamesD - comes with en-US dic and aff files.

Just in case You need additional languages support like me: uses the same open spelling as Thunderbird, Firefox, Open Office...

To get & install additional languages support: search (e.g. thunderbird & Your language), download, extract the xpi (that is simply a zip) and copy extracted dic and aff files to ./dictionaries. smiling smiley

animated gif works well, thanks

downloaded mentioned spellchecker, but how do you install it? XP couldn't unzip it, I ended up losing K-Meleon, had to reinstall, got wrong version saven on my computer.
What opens a 7Z- file or whatever ending it has? I downloaded something called 7z465.exe but that messed up my computer even more.
Where can I read about how to use all these programs, any ideas?
And how do I put KM extensions into KM macros? Sorry, I am just learning about this all.

AND, please, before I uninstall 1.5.1 to install later version, how do I save the bookmarks?

thanks again for all the help.

http://www.7-zip.org/ and several other archiver programs open/extract 7zip.
E.g. http://www.win-rar.com/rarproducts.html

7z465.exe just start it. Allow it to add a context menue.
That makes unpacking easier.

The extension manager should help You with installing and uninstalling extensions.

Your bookmarks are stored in a file named "bookmarks.html" in your K-Meleon profile. To find your profile folder go to menu: EDIT -> CONFIGURATION -> PROFILE DIRECTORY.
Make a copy of this file in other folder and replace it in the new KM version installed.

Leichter gesagt, wie getan.

Managed to get 7z465.exe uninstalled, re-installed, spellcheck downloaded again, unzipped into k-Meleon plugin, but now can't find it now. I should be able to click somewhere to check my German and it should say something is wrong.
Did I unzip to the wrong folder?

I have trouble understanding winrar, so I leave it for now, thanks anyway.
