K-Meleon1.6a4 - Icons A Bit Dated - Old School

Well look, let me first by saying 1.6x looks nice, but I'd hope to think whoever is developing this has been around awhile in software development, because if you have then you should really know that the icon looks is a bit out dated, old in 1.6.0.

Have you seen Firefox 3.7alpha, the look of those icons?

Now to each his own, I'm sure there are many people that might not like those either, all I'm saying is it's a newer fresher look and the look that 1.6 has, well it's already been done many times before for the past 5 years. So this might be a new look for KM, but it is certainly not a FRESH look for a piece of software.

Maybe the problem is you are glued only in the Windows world and yes this is a Windows program but people out there might be using other systems like myself or they are into the art scene, so they see what is going on.

Have a look at some icons from a different perspective if you haven't done so
before.

Ok now I also know that people will be able to change KM later to what they want and customize it, but all I'm saying is when you complete 1.6x I personally think it needs a more modern fresher look to the icons, something different then what you typically see, create something new! smiling smiley

THANKS

P.S. Keep up the great work, I just want a fresher look is all. smiling smiley

Hi, DasFox,

here is the KMeleon Themes Wiki.
It would be really great if you volunteered to take one of the themes you like (mind its license, though!) and imported its icons into one of the existing KM skins - which, IMHO, is probably the easiest way to make a new skin.

Cheers

IMHO You should submit Your more modern, alternative skin to Dorian and kko for review.

So far there is one submission and that was done on request.

Next default skin is likely to be based on Phoenity-aura icons.
BTW: Lim Chee Aun has been into icon design a while.

K-Meleon 1.6 (actually most of recent 1.5's too) uses bmp with alpha channel support. Not all effects that are possible for for K-Meleon clones (such as Firefox grinning smiley) that have png support can be ported to K-Meleon.
