Captcha & K-Meleon

I've got a captcha problem that is beyond insane, if such a thing is
possible!

I'm a partner in a small business. Several times each month I login to
a website where I spend major dollars buying products for our business.
Their captcha system is like a chronic disease. Unlike most retail or B2B
sites that require you to type the four letter captcha when you first setup
an account, this site requires captcha authentication each time you login.
Annoying, but that's not the problem I'm having. Their captcha system
fails 99% of the time!

Because I cannot login, they started sending me e-mails asking why I wasn't
making my usual monthly purchases. I told them what the problem was. A
couple of their IT pros called me and said they are not aware of any problems
with their captcha system.

Normally, captcha images are distorted. It's not uncommon to refresh the
image several times before you can read the letters and/or numbers. The
captcha image at this site is always crystal clear! The image is so clear
it almost defeats the purpose of captcha. Also, there is no refresh button.
The entire page must be reloaded. Finally, there is no alternate button
that allows you to play a sound file for the visually impaired.

I'd like to continue buying from this company. I don't know or care what's
causing the problem with their captcha. I tried Internet Explorer, but it
didn't fix the problem.

I'm aware of a plugin for Firefox called SkipScreen that's suppose to bypass
the captcha image. Another app called CaptchaKiller is easy to find while
Googling. Bypassing captcha on file sharing sites like RapidShare and
MegaUpload is the main purpose for these plugins or apps.

I don't want to download anything! All I want to do is bypass this one stupid
captcha so I can login to my own account and continue buying products for our
business. Ironically, if we find a new supplier because I can no longer access
my account, I'll be flooded with e-mails and phone calls from these guys.

Will K-Meleon (or Firefox) with the right plugins allow me to bypass this
captcha? If there is no solution I'll have to dump a supplier that has been
a reliable source for several years.

Hi, clutterless,

as far as I can tell from the SkipScreen page at addons.mozilla.org, this is just able to skip unnecessary pages at the sites it is made for? I doubt that skipping captchas is one of it's options. If I were you, I'd just try with Firefox, and/or ask your question at their forum..

Otoh, if those captchas are easily legible, you might try to find a solution in one of the general macro-making programs, like AutoIt or Autohotkey - those have very helpful forums, too.

But, honestly, before putting more work to this, I'd try to find out about other ways of ordering from them, via fax, phone, or email

Cheers

Oh yeah, some captchas can be a major disease!! *rolleyes* Isn't that sometimes an ajax prob...?

Have you already tried the usual stuff? KM1.6, other user agent FF, unblocking stuff in privacy menu and prefs? in F2 > javascript, network, page-display/images, privacy-COOKIES, encryption - or could it be some proxy or router thing??? Or some plugin stuff, java version etc.??
