Thanks for any help.
running v 1.5.4
Totally lost my Vista.
Had to reinstall K-Meleon.
My home page is dailyoverlook.com.
I key it in and click on "make this my home page".
The next time I come back in it's back to that chrome thingy.
How can I fix this?

Just give yourself writing rights in the profile folder.
You find it in Edit > Configuration > Profile Directory
Go 1-2 steps higher from there, right-click the folder and look for some entry with "security"... You may have to do this as admin... And one never knows, sometimes those modern security systems seem to require rebooting to get new permission to stick!

Alternatively you can tell KM to put your profile in your windows user account, where you already have writing rights by default.
That location is actually the default setting at KM-setup, called "multi-user" version (or similar). Looks like you clicked "single-user", that means the 'portable' version with profiles inside the KM program folder, and IMHO isn't quite clear enough labeled what this means.
Anyway, the profile location can be switched any time later too: delete the file "profile.ini" in the K-Meleon program folder and KM will create a new profile in your windows user folder at next browser start.
