power usage in kmeleon and portable version

hello it seems like kmeleon has been updated which is nice. does anyone have a portable version of the program like a .zip or a .7z and can anyone comment on the power usage compared to other browsers like ie firefox chrome

The installer now has the option portable install which makes that its profiles folder is in the applications install folder. This can be used on HDD or on exchangable media. Choose that plus custom install.

BTW. K-Meleon had that capability at least since the 1.5.x series. Only that its installer gave the feature a different name - because this was then mostly used by people that had Win9x.

CPU and RAM usage depends on what features like speculative JavaScript precompiling is activated for both Firefox and K-Meleon. It is now on by default, so are other heavy resource consumers that speed up browsing. This also should have influence on power usage. But IMHO nobody here has so far looked into that matter. And IMHO nobody here has resently researched on what can be switched on/off.
