Hey guys. Just wandering..

When 4 is out, not much sense to develop 1.6 now?

Just numbers.

What is important is the GRE heart inside. In that case maybe should be dropped and go with 1.7, but, anyways, it depends on Seamonkey, not Firefox.

So, if firefox jumped to new gecko, then seamonkey will jumped too, but later?

km2,

SeaMonkey usually follows a major FireFox release with its own new release in a few days or so.

SM 2.1

not exactly guys. note that Seamonkey 2.1 is still in beta 2 stage and beta 3 will be coming soon, so SM 2.1 is still far off from being a final release.

or better yet, continue development on KM 1.6, bypass and skip 1.7 and
start developing a K-meleon 2.0, based on the gecko 2.0 engine that firefox 4.0 and seamonkey 2.1 uses. just only a suggestion though. smiling smiley

4td8s,

It's all about how hard it is to develop KM using which Gecko engine. Work has already started on FF 3.6 Gecko 1.9.xxx engine, aka KM 1.7.xxx. As FF 3.6 will be in use for the next year or ????, this is the version that will have the bug fixes needed down the road. As for Gecko 2.0, aka FF 4, SM 2.1, that is whole other ballgame imo.
