I am using 1.7.0 and now find that I might have to use the Tor bundle

I note that it can be used with Firefox and would like to know if I can safely use it with KM.Is anyone using this package with KM?

Don't know, and don't think anyone has tried to use them together. As Tor currently uses FF 3.5.16 in its bundle (you can download a copy of F 3.5.18 and copy over the new files to make it up-to-date), perhaps asking them if they have tried to make KM work with Tor is the way to go.

I never use any "package", but first what you need is create proxy settings "TOR"
where HTTP & HTTPS are set localhost, port: 8123, and SOCKS 5 localhost, port 9050.
Before connection localproxy "Polipo" and Tor must be instaled and running.

Port 8123, nope, port 8118 I think.

Port 8118 if you are Privoxy user. This is obsolete. New Tor recomend don't use Privoxy and change localproxy to Polipo. Polipo is listening on port 8123.
