After much time using Wackget, I find I need a better download manager to use with KM 1.6.xxx. Any ideas very much appreciated.

my favorite is orbit prior to v.4.0 since they added junk to it.

disrupted,

How do you integrate it into KM (With Wackget, Alain's right click works, the same here?)

This from your site???

meloo,

Thanks, I'm checking out yours first... Do I need to download an executable also? I see the dll in the plugins folder and when I rightclick to download something, I see orbit, but it is greyed out. The kmm file probably needs info or I need to get more files, or???

nick for all the downloadmanager integration extensions, you will need to download the equivalent manager first

old versions or orbit downloader can be found here
http://www.oldapps.com/orbit_downloader.php
after installing orbit, the extension shoud find its path from the registry and menu will be enabled

for fdm, first download and install it from thsi link:
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm
there are several versions, note the regular full version is about 15mb after extraction/install..so depending on your needs you might prefer lite versions..but full one should get you pretty covered

after that, install this new extension for fdm:
http://kmext.sourceforge.net/extensions/fdm-int.7z

right click on a download link and select download:fdm

disrupted & meloo,

Thanks much to you two for all your help with download managers. I have tried both your suggestions and liked both, but in the end, I went back to Wackget. I know... I know, it's not nearly as fast, but I guess I have become accustomed to its quirks.

I now have two alternatives sitting in macros, backed up into 7z files in case I change my mind once again.

Tks!
