I am not sure. I went to site with KM 7431 and could only hear the children. I then went to preferences and un-checked Flashblock. When I reloaded the page I could see and hear the children. I don't use a whitelist for flashblock.

One thing is that the page is presenting HTML 5 video first and flash second. There is an item in the upper left corner to change that.

Test mp4 file

Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?

I don't know, but happens on more sites.

With HTML5 video and flash sites. If you don't let load the object first, it won't play.

Another example is the IMDB trailers, and that is flash, not HTML5. Not option even.

Or maybe javascript api controlling flash....

Dorian sure knows.

Correct me please if I am wrong but since we are at it, there is no way in K-Meleon to effectively block flash.
The FlashBlock extension merely prevents flash content to be played, while the content gets loaded in the background.
Only solution I have found so far is to keep the flash plugin invisible for K-Meleon.
If I want to watch some flash content I have to fire up another browser where I can block flash for good.

Edit: Sorry, I was wrong. sad smiley

Hm, but when I play a youtube video, it only starts *loading* when I click the arrow. Before not, or the red progress line would be much further already.
Wondering, perhaps it has to do with the Link-prefetching pref?? But no idea.
(in KM16 in F2 > Privacy > Paranoia)
I also keep the pref for embedded objects blocked during normal surfing.

Tested again and flash content doesn't load until I allow it.

That doesn't happen to me in 74gre24.

The swf object is only loaded once you click in the arrow. I sniffed with httpmonitor to be sure.

And in sites like youtube, the video doesn't download anything of the video until I click the flash block arrow replacement too.
