Root Folder?
Date: July 06, 2011 01:45AM

Trying to install this -

Spell Check

spell checks your spelling as you type. misspelt words get highlighted with a red underline, right clicking displays word suggestions to choose from. supports many languages/dictionaries.
menu entry: text-input context>spell check
extra notes: extension uses components. please read FAQ for install help.
versions supported: 1.1.x - 1.5.x

The problem is, a quick look at FAQ...

how do i install a plugin?

plugins that are in 7z format should be extracted in k-meleon's root folder because they contain other files like components. after extracting those plugins; make sure to delete compreg.dat and xpti.dat in the k-meleon\components folder just as you would do with an extension. those 2 files will be regenerated once you restart k-meleon. plugins that are in zip format are netscape format plugins(np). they do not contain component files and should be extracted directly into k-meleon\plugins folder.

Raised at least one serious question: what *is* K-M's root folder name? (is it simply the main folder in wich K-M is installed - E:/K-M)?

And is it as simply as un-compressing the files - should it run after that?

Thanks...

1) Yes, just main folder "K-Meleon"

2) Yes for most macros. And additionally for a few, incl. spellchecker, as you're citing from FAQ:
Delete the 2 *.dat files in components folder, then restart browser
