no bookmarks

having a prob with bookmarks.
Yes I have more than 1024 ( aobut 1400) but I can't see _any_ bookmarks.
I am not queried about imporiting them and they are not on the menubar.
I tried disabling iefavourites plugin ( which works as it should) but still no
bookmarks.
I noticed that while my bookmarks.dll is in /kplugins it does not show up
with the other .dll as a plugin in the preferences/plugin dialouge box.
For somereason it doesn't seem to take much notice of the bookmarks.dll

I have Opera, Netscapte 4.75, and Mozilla .95 on my system.
My Mozilla bookmarks are not in the Moz program directory, but moz
is able to find them no prob.
Noting in the faq where it said that for Windows 95 bookmarks are expected
to be in windows/mozilla/profiles , I put a copy of my bookmarks.html in there
and reinstalled Kmeleon. Same problem. No bookmarks.

I may just give up on Netscape bookmarks , bcs even tho I have never used
IExplorer they are keybord letter sortable, which I can never understand why
Moz hasn't implemented. to me this is a must have feature.

Thnx if someone can tell what is going wrong here.

I get exactly same problem, and I only have ~500 bookmarks. Can't see any. Bookmarks dll is there but doesn't show up in prefs/plugins, or anywhere!

This is a great program, but I'm not blowing away Netscape until I can grab the bookmarks.

Anybody got any clues?
cheers

Try bookmarks---->config and then select your "bookmarks.html" file. Alternatively, you can simply copy your bookmarks.html file from netscape and replace the bookmarks.html file in C:\PROGRAM ILES\K-MELEON\Profiles\default\xxxxxxxx.slt\bookmarks.html.

Worked for me and I never messed with the *.dlls, so give it a shot.

Ominx,thnx for replying.
First , I don't have a "bookmark" on the menu bar.
I assume this is part of the problem.

I tried copying bookmarks.html into C:\PROGRAMILES\K-MELEON\Profiles\default\xxxxxxxx.slt\ as you suggested
but it didn't help.
My menu.config has a bookmarks stanza

%ifplugin bookmarks
&Bookmarks {
bookmarks(Config)
bookmarks(Add)
bookmarks(Edit)
-
bookmarks()
}
%endif

instructing kmeleon to make a bookmarks item for the menu bar if I have a bookmarks.dll which I do, but
the program doesn't seem to listen to these instructions.

Perhaps I should have added that when I first installed Kmeleon it complained
about the mfc42.dll , but I downloaded the service pack to update this.
so I don't think that should have anything to do with it.

I guess I will wait for a newer version of Kmeleon to work better for me.
Thanks again.

yeah Ominx, thanks for replying. The answer for me was that netscape called my bookmarks file bookmark.htm NOT bookmarks.html. Once I'd copied it in and renamed it, voila, bookmarks!
thanks again Ominx
