Question about addons.sqlite

In KM74, why does the file addons.sqlite occasionally disappear from my profile folder after a session or two? The file is in my backed up profile and can be copied back again, but the browser seems to work just fine without it. What purpose does it serve, and do I actually need it at all?

My vague idea.

AFAIK a sqlite list what addons are allowed - works together with the blacklist,
For this reason it is updated often.

But I am not firmly sure about this.

Maybe start Your own search for info here. The bug that IMHO introduced addons.sqlite .

Continue at Amo Editors. https://wiki.mozilla.org/AMO:Editors

Maybe try to use "DB Browser for SQLite" to inspect the file http://sqlitebrowser.org/

p.s. I use addons that prevent update checks but I am not sure whether that effects this.

Thanks, Guenter. My addons.sqlite file turns out to be empty. All I can see is a structure, with no content. As for addons, I use only the extensions provided with KM74, i.e. the macros, etc. Nothing else has been added, with the exception of a couple of plugins, namely for Flash and SumatraPDF. Apparently it doesn't matter if addons.sqlite disappears, so I won't bother copying it back anymore.

BTW, I'm using SQLiteSpy, which I just downloaded. It appears to be smaller and simpler than Database Browser, and besides, I don't usually work with databases here anyway.
