K-meleon cannot load mega.nz properly
Date: September 15, 2015 11:46AM
I've tested this on 2 computers, Mega loads as white/gray screen, is any solution for that? I can't also install Mega extension, I'm using version 75.1.

1.) No idea. Bugs me to update. You can try to spoof the Firefox version they want. That is the normal procedure for pages like that. If not there is no solution.
2.) Can I assume a Firefox Mega extension?
K-Meleon is no Firefox. It has no XUL based GUI.
For this very reason: Not all Firefox extensions work or can be installed.
Some FF Addons are adapted for K-Meleon by interested users.
But: Support for an extension/addon is totally up to the creator of the extension.

Mega has 'banned' all Gecko's older than 35 or 36.
And we cannot spoof it with UA-strings. Site checks something else - we need to send fake http-headers or other information about browser to mimic FF.
For now I don't have the solution for Mega other than use 'Open in browser' macro (which sends page to another browser).

As I said a few months back:
MegaDL from MegaTools pack.

Russian-based
vseyfe.com (where new KM Pro was uploaded to) offers comparable file store, exchange and security capabilities like Mega, but is clean, fast, compatible and gives much more free space (120Gb).
Enjoy it (supports Russian, English, Deutsch and Ukrainian)

clean and fast sounds good
(and thanks for the giggle from their hilarious google-translation!
Difficult to decipher the german meaning as usual, but with gems like this: their service will last "forever and ever/in all eternity", LOL!)

The buggers from Mega are keen to store data on local storage.
If you disallow, they'll block any browser.
That's not how a trustworthy host looks like.

I tried link z mega.nz, and it works normally, for now good solution would be macro which add eu.static for link. I think that old mega will not last forever. I'm get links to mega cause of polish GG communicator which banned normal file sending.

Sounds like there's a bit hope, at least as workaround for public downloads...

Intead of this extension..., what about use
MegaDL from MegaTools passing the URL as a parameter with a macro?
I got recommended this tool when I asked in a forum about a simple standalone tool for just downloading files from Mega, as browsers do some kind of
load to RAM before actually save to hard disk, what I can't do due RAM size.
Aside from bugfixing, if that tool saves tons of RAM that would be an important plus too. Actually tried it now on my old machine, where mega gives me nothing except either blank pages or "old browser" warnings, no matter what. But no luck, doesn't work on win98 - grmpf ;-)

Yeah, it is XP and above only. I can run it on Win2k, but not without Kernel wrappers. Have you already tried with KernelEx in Windows 98?
For me, anyway, was a saving tool. The mega "load-to-ram" system is a nightmare.
I download just a couple of times from mega, but when sometimes shares a link to that host... #@!!

Of course, kernelex is always the first thing I try when a new prog won't run!
Yeah and that RAM-explosion is a crime, and completely unnecessary considering they could simply send files as a normal file download...
The irony is how they claim their service would be so much SECURER than all others! Ha ha... after forcing users to unblock all sorts of security-barriers first, giving mega lots of rights a trustworthy service would never request.
At the very least, if they were trustworthy, they would allow users the CHOICE to download either their bloated way or the traditional simple way.

I accidentally opened mega on K-meleon 1.6 alpha and it working normally. I don't know if this version solved this problem or mega unblocked something but Mega works better on K-meleon then Qupzilla on whitch i got mega string of random chars instead of filename.

mega.nz today works fine in KM75. Something is changed back there on site.
