Where does K-Meleon store used search items?

After reading this post I tried to look up where search items get stored in K-Meleon.
I can't see anything in my profile folder and hence my question.

Yogi

I will go you one better. What is 'search history' and how does one view it? I noticed your referenced thread, but did not know of what history the author asked.

JamesD

You can see in the picture below, previous search items which get stored somewhere.

My question is, where are they stored? The question in the related post was, how to get rid of them?

Probably in the moz_inputhistory table in places.sqlite.

And probably get rid of it by browser.formfill.enable false.

I carry it from years ago, so I don't have any input/form history and therefore, the table is empty in my case.

If it was previously configurable in the preferences panel, I can't find it. Maybe was missing in the new versions.

EDIT: but here says that is moz_keywords and the above is for URLs :-?
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Places.sqlite

Anyway, I have both empty.

This is were the search items are stored:

By clearing "Form History" the search items get removed.

moz_places is the table for the normal history.

The column you are pointing to, is the title of the visited page.

Those aren't the words in the form elements. Just in case you thought it.

BTW, where is the Clear "Form History" option in a default K-meleon 75.0 install? I can't see it in Tools menu.

"ali baba" and "alma ata" were search terms I've used for testing.
It's the only place were I can find those terms stored.
After clearing them the search items were gone.

I see. Looks like that section is not available in 75.0 preferences panel.

I only have "Global history" and "URL bar history".

Maybe was included later, in 75.1 or 76 alpha/beta.

I'm lazy to test it today tongue sticking out smiley (75.1, as I can't run 76).

Right now I am using KM 75.1 RC u1. I think the data we have been discussing is in a file named 'formhistory.sqlite'.

The same file shows up in KM 76 Beta. I used 'apples' as a search item there and the string 'apples' shows up in the file. I do not have an sql viewer program.

@JamesD: Sqlite manager http://kmext.sourceforge.net/km74/sqlitemanager-km74.7z

I didn't see that file, hehe.

Yogi, you should check it, as there are 2 tables and one has the table moz_deleted_formhistory.

Maybe a backup is created when deleted/cleared...

I can confirm JamesD, they are stored in formhistory.sqlite.
First time I checked, I overlooked the second table.
